For most rifles that I use the TB 11.5-12.5 gr load, I find about 400 yard setting is a good starting point.

Roo, this is the only thing I use Traiboss for. Bottle neck rifle rounds with cast bullets. Never loaded a single round of straight wall pistol rounds with it. Mostly I use Bullseye or Titegroup for that.

Looking good, Major 2.

We might get rain tonight.

TK, maybe you should take your bow to work-if they're  gonna pay you to sit in a tower in the woods anyway.....

I'm keeping it under the seat of my truck with the .22. ::)

First deer hunt of the season was sort of successful.  We saw 16 deer in under an hour, two of which had antlers.  Unfortunately, they were both too small.

I have also used/tried it for bottled neck cartridges, It worked. I just prefer other powders.

It is already 77 here.  Chance of rain returning tomorrow. Been since Saturday without any rain. Getting sort of dry.
Thanks for the coffee

Yesterdays eclipse event was disappointing. I want my day back!

TK your state must have a Size rule for bucks...you know you can't eat the antlers, right?

I had someTrail boss.... my mentor in reloading suggest this load,  and I read an article called  K.I.S.S.  about Cast Bullets in 30 caliber Milspec.

Being new to 30 cal. Krag it just seems prudent to follow suit ....

Major, did you get any good info from the stuff that I sent you? Let's see some groups.

I like the Trailboss for milsurp rounds because it can't be double charged, and a full case still isn't an overload. I have used Unique, Green Dot, and similar powders, but for them I use a pencil to check powder levels, because it's hard to visually check powder levels so low in a bottleneck case. I've never used it for 45/70 or similar, as what I have read is it's pretty high pressure, but for a low velocity.

Evening all.

City trip today.  But this time I got paid for it. ::)  Had to go get my fingerprints taken and such so I can get a card that allows me to use Forest Service computers.  The only problem is, I probably won't get the card until the last week of the season.  Not that I have electricity where I work, much less a Forest Service computer.

I also picked up my bear tag for the year.  I'm planning to go for a weekend bear hunt as soon as fire season is over.  I'll be going out in the alps to give my $1000 Winchester a chance to play.

Roo, state regs say forked on one side.  Personally imposed rules say three or more.  Gotta give the little guys a chance to grow up and add to the gene pool.

Thanks for the coffee.  Watching the weather forecast closely here on the coastal plain of Tejas.  The remnants of tropical storm Henry are expected to gain momentum, and may hit us.  If so, we will "hunker down".

Recently my Virginia issued CCW permit expired. Yesterday i had to go to DMV so while there i walked across parking lot to Sherrifs office and asked for a application. I was told i could use the computer provided in lobby, ir do it in line at home. So got home filled out on line app and paided the first two years up front($30). This morning i was half way back to county seat at the feed mill getting the goats their's. I recieved a text message from Sherriffs dept saying my application was approved. It could be picked up there. So i drove around the bridge out detour and picked it up. I told the clerk i could not believe how fast it was. Application said up to 30 days and i was accepting that is what it would be.  She apoligized and told me her computer was down till late yesterday or it would have been done same day.  So i sign the app and she gives me card and list of reciprocal states 30 out of 50, accept ours as we do theirs. No need to mentions which ones don't.

That's fast, Roo! The Missouri permit requires a class first, but I don't have one. Don't need it for "in state", since we have passed "constitutional carry" over the veto of the previous governor. Only need one for reciprocity, but since I live in the middle of the state and not near a border, I don't often go out of state.

We are expecting rough weather starting tomorrow from the tropical storm.  So, I'm taking half day off from work this afternoon to take care of stuff I was going to do on my Friday off tomorrow.   Won't get much done outside this weekend.  But, my favorite wife has bought a new ceiling fan to install in the den, so I guess that will occupy some time.
