Thank you Slim.

Yep more rain expected today. Had one good frog drowner  yesterday,  and lightning took out power for a short while.  It has been so humid and hot, even the dogs don't want to go outside.

Was wanting to go shoot a AR i accquired before i went to Hospital in June.  May have to use a indoor range near here. That or wait till winter

Enjoy the fair

Harness Races?
Our county fair doesn't have them anymore. It's been about 10 years.
My uncle doesn't do the fairs anymore since he is retired and training full time. He is spending the summer at Running Aces in MN.

No Harness Racing at the fair? Besides demo derbys what else was there?  ;)

Morning brews are ready.  Ham and egg with swiss cheese on toast.

Rain gage yesterday said we had an additional 6 inches of rain since Friday. The oil was changed in mower and the mowing of the acreage has begun. Finish today.  These eXmaek mowers  need no tools to change oil and if your strong enough  the filter too.  They are also set up you can use a trailer jack to lift front end up to change blades and other naintenance. No hoist or ramps needed.

The chickens sure like the fresh mowed grass. To scratch in

The remaining hens here would not be good for show. So they will not get bathed nor groomed. I have people ask about my Black Austrlorps if they are for sale.  Good layers in colder weather.

Do those lay green eggs?

Got most of the chickens washed. I changed the oil and oil filter in the Beast.

Loaded the Beast with chickens, plants, etc. Started it up to go and it started squealing. The tranny cooler sprung a leak and was spraying in the v-belts. Had to transferred chickens, etc to the Suburban and the MIL's S10. Made it to the fair and entered the chickens, etc. I feel a nap coming on.

Evening all.  I'll stir the coals for the night owls.

I've been working non-stop since last Wednesday, overtime, weekends, everything.  Today was my first full day off.  Yesterday was supposed to be off, but I got called in at 0900 for a Union conference.  Six hours later, and we'd covered all 45 articles of the Union-USFS master agreement.   :(

We've had thunder/lightening/rail/hail/sn*w all week.  Yes, the "S-word" happened up in the alps.  All of the lookouts have been working max legal hours.  And then some.  As in, we're allowed 80 hours in any 7 day period, and yesterday made 107 hours for me.  They can get away with it because we were in "Lightening Plan."  Whatever.

My pay check got stuck in red tape for a week, but that came through today so I went to do some grocery shopping in the city.  Managed to pick up 100 rounds of 22, so it was a good trip.  ::)

Have a check up with Pulmonory Doctor today.  Maybe treat my self to some bbq afterwards

Still too hot and humid for me to spend a day at the range.

Pork chops and taters for supper. Everyone one went to bed before 10, most happening is the water tower pumpswater once in a while.  Figure someone is up for a plumbing check.

I'll stir up the coals again.  ::)

I have thoroughly enjoyed my day off.  I have done very little that could be called useful today.  I think the most useful thing is taking out the trash.  ;D

Today was also my sister's 17th birthday, so we just finished cake and ice cream from that.  I'm too full of sugar.

Tomorrow I'll be back on a mountain, too.  Back on the 40 foot tower.  But, I bought some "Dunkin' Donuts Dark Roast Premium" coffee grounds at the store yesterday, so maybe that will improve my day.  I can hope, right?

I've got some beef in the oven drying out for the weekend up at the towers.  Only an hour more to go, give or take.
