Pitspitr, I've seen that fold up campaign hat a few times. I like it, wish I had one. But I gotta say that skimmer is pretty dapper.

I imagine you've seen the drab campaign hat a time or two as well. 😉

Hey Pitspitr!

That cold weather hat reminds me of someone. ;D

Pitspitr

;D And those 2 hats probably weren't made all that far apart timewise. The one I'm wearning is an original army issue seal skin.

Uh... just a thought on the 'ID' of the above-mentioned sea water oval-shaped animal,
From past comments and conjectures it runs in my mind, feeble as it is, that skins, fur, hides or pieces-parts are not legal to own or wear. Also, not sure about same in historical situations or historical displays but if I recall correctly I was told many years ago by an officer that monitored suchlike that it was not in anybodies best interest to have/own or wear, if you all get the drift of same.
Well, take it as you will, just a random thought on the propriety of same, mayhaps others in the legal vein such as our GAF friend from Canada, eh, have a more definitive idea or recent position on same.
Best regards and always hope for the best.

Me thinks that if the said item was made before legal restrictions, or it was made with material obtained prior to legal restrictions it isn't illegal.  At least this is what I discovered from my investigation on items with similar restrictions.  Of course, provenance can be a challenge, and steered me away from what I was considering...

I have both elephant ivory and Sambar stag grips pre-ban. And those that are actually antique I think would also fall under "pre-ban". I even have a crocodile belt I bought in Australia prior to the ban there. Shame I'm too fat to wear it anymore. However, because of the lack of proof of pre-ban, I don't publish photos of them on social media.  The stag is the only one I could prove...

I like the hat I'm wearing here. Made by Clearwater Hats I believe.

The other image shows a hat that I'm having made soon. Can't wait for it.
