Howdy all. I got a belly knife from my friends at the Gun Works and after some thinking on how to build it, I made a sheath with a brass clip to wear in my boot (or on my belt sometimes). Clip was cut from sheet brass and files to shape and formed. My grandaughter "helped" me with the carving and had a ton of fun with her Poppop (but not as much as I had). :)

Cool.  That's a 'roach belly' knife.  And what is that little pistol in the holster?...that looks to be a S&W 'New Departure' Safety Hammerless.  Cool again.

Doc, nice looking sheath.  :)  How did you fasten the clip to the sheath?  I picked up a dagger a few years ago and I was going to make a boot sheath but never got around to it.  :(  Now I'm wearing chaps so a boot sheath is out.  So I'm thinking about adding a sheath to the lower leg of the chaps for a knife.

I thought of making a pair of chaps that have the holsters, watch pocket and a sheath built in, sort of like classic cowboy in a single unit.  ;D ;D

Looks good, Doc. I like the way you made the sheath come up high on the handle of the knife.

Howdy all and thanks. The clip I sewed using heavey waxed nylon thread (before final forming of the clip). I would suggest rivets as being better, but I didn't have any at the time.

Thanks Marshal. I've made all my sheaths like that. I just like the way they look and the security for the knife.

Here's a beaded sheath like that as well. Made the sheath and traded for the beadwork.
