Gentlemen,  Does anyone here know how Classic Old West Styles trousers fit as opposed to, say, Wranglers?  I can't find any fit instructions on their website, and no one is answering the phone.

The pair I gor didn't come close to fitting.

I returned them and went a different route.

They are a different cut from Wranglers

Wrangler has Slim , Boot Cut , Full ( for skosh more room ) or something along that name ology.

Classic Old West Styles  will be high waist

I find if I wear them as high as they intended ( they fit " sorta like cheap Hotel "  no Ballroom !

Try a size one up and use the rear belt strap to snug them up....

One caveat though ..... hang them in your closet for a long sabbatical and they shrink  :-\
when planets align...do the deal !

Howdy all,

Ditto to Major. I find that not only do the pants shrink, but so do shirt collars and gunbelts.

Classic high waist, meant for skinny chaps! For us normal gentlemen, braces are required. Be prepared to provide your waist measurement at the wealthiest point.

2-6 sizes larger than regular jeans.   Depending on the spare tire.  Grin  Dale, I'd guess you'd need to go just 2, should have asked last week cause I was wearing them all week.

Still wouldn't fit and my tailor stated she couldn't see any way to make them work.

Did you used to sell them at your former employer?

They are in Bennet, call and see if they will be home and not on the road sometime when you are in Lincoln.   Tell them I sent you, Keith and Linda used to run The Fort then in 2006 her brother took it over.  Long story, don't know it all, they will be glad to help you.

I've got some that are size 40 that are pretty snug, usual  is 38 in Wranglers. Probably 42 would be a better fit for me.

You have to also remember when they fit right, they won't fit like Wranglers, FC also have more generous leg room the Wah Maker.
I love the fit of FC better and I think the quality is much better, and I've worn out a lot of pairs of both.

Good advice from all of them. Your abdomen is what decides a fit. On the trousers I make I split the waist band in the back so that room can be taken in or let out. Most surviving 19th century trousers did not need this done as abdomens were not bloated as today.

Good to see you are alive and hopefully well my friend.  Keep hoping you can make it to Summerfield again.

Ned, When I go to visit the middle daughter, I drive right past them. If you should choose to get a pair from them I'd be happy to stop and pick them up. If you are in Lincoln, they are about 1/2 mile south of the Casey's at the Bennet exit from Highway 2

Wild West Mercantile has some "old style" cowboy trousers tailored more like modern jeans with a normal height waist;

I've owned a zillion pairs of the traditional high waisted frontier pants and ALWAYS hated them.  Bought a pair of the above low waisted style and have been much happier.   WWM does not have a big selection of color and pattern in these but they're worth a try. :)
