Time was - our different Holidays were for the celebration of an event in American history - and not for the kick-off to the Early Bird sales.

Times were a bit slower, then - allowing for a bit of reflection on the meanings of sacrifice and freedom and perseverance and all - and because of a Nation's collective 'awareness' of those who'd gone before and who'd helped to create our country -  maybe those times were 'nicer'.

Hard to say, sometimes...

At any rate, Happy Thanksgiving to you all - and most especially to those whose loved ones are deployed far from home.
