I are really annoyed.  REALLY ANNOYED!!  I broke my Husqvarna Shotgun.  Well, it BROKE!!  I can hardly believe it.

After shooting a match, cleaned it (necessary evil).  After cleaning and a drop or two of oil, I cocked the hammers (function check).  The left side Main Spring went ..... BANG ..... floppy hammer.  As heavy as that Main Spring is, it let go right at the FOLD!!  Gimmie a break.  Well ok, it broke.  Now a single shot.  Mumble mumble cuss with nasty wurds.

So (I may have asked before but can't remember) does anyone have an idea for a source for parts for a Husqvarna M50, top lever, hammer double with floating back action locks??  If I can find em, I will even spring for a complete set or two.  Such a really neat and fun shotgun to have it broken is more than I can stand!!!!

HELP!!

Send the pieces to Yancey VonYeast. http://www.yvonyeast.com/ He can make most any mainspring.

Perhaps tradeexcanada has some spare parts? Getting parts made should not be too hard.

Got to see a picture of the lock with mainspring, but a quick search revealed

You can also check with L&R Lock Company.  May find something close that can be fitted.

Just trying to help.

Coffinmaker:  shotgun mainsprings are not hard to make.  Surely someone your side of the DMZ can fix you up?

I have no contribution to the OP.  None.  Nada.  Zip.  Zilch.

Well, too date, I've called every parts house on this side of the PLANET (Earth is FLAT Uno) and NO JOY.  I'm going to take the easy way out and find a complete but not so wonderful Husky M51 and buy it as a parts gun.  That option will probably turn out to be not that much more expensive than having a one-off special spring made.  The Husky spring has some funny protrusions on the rebound side.  Twould be troublesome to make and kind of spendy.

Some days you eat Bear.  Other days, the Bear eats You.  Oh well.  I can make springs, but this one is just a bit more complicated than I want to take on and I no longer have my small forge.

Colt Fanning

Hi,
I had the same thing happen. I stuck both the ends into a potato and silver soldered the pieces together.  The spring has continued to work reliably for 50 years.

And after you welded up the spring did you butter up the tater for lunch? Clever idea.

Wonderment and Amazement.  Necromancy is alive and well in CAS City.  So it seams.  Or seems.  I and want to express apology for my failure to provide one and all with my progress in this endeavor.

I FOUND A SPRING!!!  A Main Spring was found, cleverly concealed inside another Husqvarna Shotgun!!  Really!!  An acquaintance, it seems, or seams, had a 16Ga of similar vintage/design that he was really really unhappy with, and let me "look" at his Main Spring.  It fit.  I kept it.  He now has a 16Ga, Double Barrel, Exposed Hammer, Single Shot (How'd that happen I wonder).

I, on the other hand, am a very happy camper.

Well HI  :D  Kent

I wanted to relate, I was in an LGS a Lustrum or so ago, and I pointed out a swell looking item in his display case and I politely asked "Can I look at it" and he put one of those rubbery pads on the top of the case and put the gun on it.  :o  I took out my pocket size multi bit screwdriver and took it apart (he had walked away).  ::)  When he turns back, I thought he was gonna have apoplexy. ;)

So ... If you have it, and I ask "can I look at it" be vary wary.  "Can I see it" holds no threat.  If I wanna "look" at it, it means I wanna look inside   ;D

Kent Shootwell

OK then you can see my guns right here with your eyes, safely brought to you be the web!  :-\  If I was to run into you in person I might let you ( since studying your posts) touch under close supervision and a hand on my revolver. ;D
