Gentlemen, the 2017 Iowa muster has been scheduled for Oct. 1, the location is the same as years past-Goddard Cowboys range in Colfax. We have moved from our usual Aug. date to avoid the normal heat and humidity. Unfortunately this does not align with an NCOWS match on the preceding Sat. I am trying to line up an optional long range event for Sat. afternoon but don't know at this time if it will work out. I'll update info as details are worked out. Looking forward to seeing everyone this summer, Al.

With the cancellation of the Dept of the Missouri Muster today, I'll start making plans for Iowa. Camping in Oct should be better than July anyway....

The time has passed so quick, the years all run together now.

I was thinking about that as I posted. But it's easier to prepare for a little cold than trying to sleep in a 100 degree tent!

Sam Perfye

Pony, will be glad to have you. First part of Oct. is usually low to mid sixties for highs-could be low to mid thirties at nite. Plenty of firewood cut and if the need arises we can document snowangels( lets hope the opportunity doesn't come up). Still trying to nail down some long-range for Sat. afternoon, if that doesn't work out would anyone be interested in a tour thru Brownells? Should have details worked out in a couple of weeks. I'll post when I know. Al

Good to hear that Col. If things work out for long-range it would be at Brownells range about an hour east of the Colfax range -straight down I-80. If that doesn't work we'll go for the tour. Either way it would be about a 2 p.m. start. Those attending let me know if that time frame works, we can move things around a bit if needed. Either way there's a couple of good steak joints on the way back to Colfaxs all, Al, supper wouldn't be a problem. Thank

Nothing like the smell of blackpowder smoke in the air on a crisp fall day! My vote would be for long range AND a Brownells tour.

To All, stages are worked out-round count is 110 rifle 30 pistol. This is approximate on ammo as this is a no miss match. Two skirmish stages, precision rifle and precision pistol. Unfortunately long range didn't work out for this year but the tour of Brownell's is set for Sat.30 Sept. @ 1400 (2 o'clock pm for civilians). Shooting will commence @ 10:00 on Sun. 1 Oct. Registration @ 9:00. Let me know if you have questions. Thanks, Al.

Could I park my tin-teepee in the parking lot? My Striker and I are attempting to work out the details to be able to attend. No Promises yet, but we're working on it.

Jerry, plenty of room for campers. The parking area is relatively flat and right next to the range. Hope you can make it. Al.

I, and several others,  have pitched tents there, plenty of room.  I'll be putting mine up again this year.

I'll be camping myself. I'll be setting up stages sat. morning and camp there after. To those going to Brownells for the tour, uniforms are encouraged, possible photo ops don't ya know. Looking forward to seeing everyone on the first. Al

I am planning on coming over with Micah on Saturday. Brownells is on the way to the range, so we will be at Brownells before 1400.

Al,  looking forward to seeing everyone!  I have a couple questions for you. 1. Will "happy fire" be allowed if time permits on Saturday?
2.  Will Brownells purchases receive the Al Weaver employee discount?
