So how do some of you handle static cling in the clear plastic powder hoppers on the powder measures. It does get aggravating.

Ben Beam

A suggestion I heard was to wipe it down with a static controlling dryer sheet. Haven't tried it yet.

Tried a used dryer sheet in my brass tumbler to eliminate the dust. It collected all the dust just fine but when I took the top off the smell set off my sinuses so bad I couldn't hardly stand it. After I got the brass out I chucked the media.

I have also washed some parts (such as the scale pan) with dish soap, letting it dry without rinsing and that has reduced static cling.

I've been wiping down the inside of my powder measure with Dryer sheets for years.  Do NOT use the perfumed stuff.  I have also been using cut up pieces of Dryer sheet in my Lizzard Litter.  Keeps the dust down.  Same cautionary note.  Use the "Unscented" stuff.

You can also get a product called Static Gard. It is an aerosol. I spray the inside of my powder hopper when I am worried about static and let it dry. Works pretty good.
The question is why worry about static with smokeless powder?

Ben Beam

My concern was that the static was affecting my measurements, since I couldn't control how much was staying in the funnel.

This was what I would suggest.  I recommend spraying it and letting it dry outside.  The smell has some hang time, until it is dry.
Scouts Out!

What brand of powder measure are you using?

Coffinmaker

I'm not Ben Beam.  I've been known to sip a little Beam.  I actually prefer Single Malt.  However,

I personally use Dillon Stuff.  I have 5 Dillon measures set up for different calibers.  I must admit I have never had a problem with Static Cling.  Well, not that I'll discuss openly  ::)  I have also never experienced "bridging" with that heathen fad stuff I use to shoot.  I have experienced "bridging" with 2f APP.  Just enough to be a nuisance.  Since I now only load 3f for cartridges, I haven't had a problem with Bridging.  I must just live right.  I don't have much at all that goes wrong.  Unless I'm shooting a match.  Yech.

Time to change your name to Saint Coffinmaker. Unless you're shooting a match of course.

Unless you are using a plastic Lee powder measure, static should not be a problem. Never considered static a problem.

The dryer sheet trick pretty much worked for me. I also grounded all my loading machines to a separate earth ground. Not sure why it has to be separate but other Pards said not to ground to the house ground, so I didn't. Seems to me you could actually have a power potential with 2 separate grounds, but haven't had any issues.
