A black USFA pistol sock on gunbroker just sold for $71.75 with 5 different bidders bidding. Is that a typical price?

I guess it was worth that to somebody.

Someone probably lost one in the wash and really wanted one to have a set.

Didn't you read?  They're "Very hard to come by."

Plus, shipping was a mere $9.00 on top.

Wow.

That kinda money , somebody's forge them & sell them to that "guy" who's money is soon parted.

There is a cult following of sorts when it coms to anything USFA. Colt's are the same.  I've seen a black Colt SAA box go for  > $200.00.

2nd gen collectors aren't near as bad though.

Scheesh.  I get a bag of 6 pair of socks from Duluth Trading Co. for 25 Bucks.

Maybe it's a magic sock. Put any gun in there for 10 minutes and it comes out perfectly timed, perfect fit and finish and perfectly sighted in?

I'd give $71.25 plus shipping for one that would do all that! ;D ;D

Don't laugh.  USFAs supposedly came that way.

Oh I wasn't laughing. I meant you put any other gun in the sock and it comes out perfect like a USFA.

Capt. John Fitzgerald

Is that it?  Have LondsomePigeon and Fingers McGee finally uncovered USFA's secret to success?

Those pistol "socks" are made by the Ideal Outdoor Manufacturing Company in Sykesville Pennsylvania. (idealoutdoorstyle.net) I saw their label on my USFA sock and ordered several more from them, plain - no logos -  for my other handguns. They cost a lot less than $71! I tried lookin at their website tonight but the product illustrations were not functional and I couldn't find prices. Maybe their IT system is being repaired?

A simple silk-screen job can turn that 'Ideal Outdoor Manufacturing Company' sock into something pretty special, can't it?

Food for thought...
