I always figured they weigh the bulk brass instead of counting it. I have come up with a few extras before with new boxes of brass but never that many. Usually 3 or 4 pieces.

I've been told by folks in the trade that in fact they do weigh them. I was shown tables of weights & numbers.

After some looking for something completely different , I happened on a receipt , shows I bought a box of live ammo from Space Coast
Feb. of 2015 , mystery solved .....time zips by so fast these days   :-\
when planets align...do the deal !
