Have to agree you might not get these groups at 50 yards(at least not with very carefully tailored ammo) . But you will make them (or slightly better) at 25 yards.
And for Cowboy shooting purposes I find that more than enough.

Nice shooting personally I can't see anything smaller than a school bus at 100 yards. I am a SASS distance shooter

Getting back to the OP subject and questions ..... considering the situation of the Colt Custom Shop (now ... nonexistent) shipping something back to Colt for correction may well be simple nondestructive disposal.
