hp246,

Thanks for the contact info. :)

Sent the email just a moment ago. Maybe I can post back with some info late Monday.

Received a reply, summarized below:

Thanks for your interest in our brass, attached is our current Price List, prices are still the same, the only change is on the USPS shipping cost.

Unfortunately, we were not able to get a credit card processing company with a decent rate, it gets complicated when these companies learn that you deal with ammunition and components.

But if you want to order directly from us, we will be happy to ship the brass to you.

Thanks again, we look forward to hear from you soon.

Good thing this brass will be used only in my wheel guns.  At this price, I couldn't risk loosing some between the board walk.

I hear that.

2000 cases makes it easy to justify a 1873 45ACP conversion. Unless you shoot in a category that requires rims.

Kinda sad to see it go down like this, but that's the way it is.

I think some of it is just poor marketing exposure, which leads to low sales (only to those that know, and really seek it out).
Low sales means fear of buying too much stock, so smaller bulk purchase cuts down on the margin.

Seems no one hardly knows of this Cartridge except those that we're around "back in the day", and if you search for loaded ammo... lol. It's about nonexistent. Can't sell brass or ammo if people have no knowledge of it.

Maybe I'm just annoyed at losing a cute little cartridge that had such promise. When it came out some of us were picturing Schofields with proper cylinder sizes for better BP performance, even guns from Cimarron and Taylor's with 45 CBS on the barrel. l and a few others seen it as a great surrogate .44 Henry rimfire like load.  Then we too could be Agustus from Lonesome Dove muttering "That is enough"...  ;D

Hopes that Starline or Uberti would jump in and get it SAAMI listed and offer us the .45 Starline, or .45 Uberti... oh the dreams.. lol

But I digress,

That's the info and they seem to be the only game in town with it. It's a hoot of a cartridge. Maybe someday some entrepreneur with some grand marketing scheme will roll it out in big-time fashion. (you know bright lights, big city)

Thanks all,

Bibbyman

I've been shooting it in a Marlin 1894 and lost very few at the matches. The brass picker-uppers seem pleased when they come up with the correct anount. Often a lost case will come back later on in the match or next match because someone found it later and knew who it belong to.

I have more problems with loosing 32-20 cases.  They fall into smaller cracks and look too much like 357 brass.

I lose a few cases every match.  I consider it an accepted liability to having the cartridge "I" want as opposed to "almost."  I use the C45S Brass in everything I shoot cartridges out of.  Wheel guns and Rifles.  ALL my rifles are set up for C45S.  I also have a permanent powered case trimmer and jig for making my own out of either Schofield cases (45 Squirt) or 45 Colt cases.  With several thousand of each, I don't actually see myself ever running out.

Many paths to the same goal.  Cowboys excel at innovation.

Since I am the only one shooting .45 CAS at my club I usually get 100% return on my brass along with the occasional .45ACP case, but we keep the grass short and most stages have old rugs at the shooting stations. Pretty up town eh?
