I, Bad Czech, have new gun!  Is 1911!  Was told, need 1911 to play game, so I get 1911! http://14544-presscdn-0-64.pagely.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/styer1912_loading_with_stripper_clip.jpg

Eh?  What you mean!  Is 1911, say right on slide, 1911!

Browning?

Bah!  Is Krnka 1911!  Is much better! HA!

{Clears Throat}  OK, local pawn shop owner calls up, (anything weird, he calls me) Tells me an elderly couple came thru with an odd old pistol, would I be interested?  Describes it in detail.

I'm interested.

Gives me a phone number.  Old man answers, we chat, I make an offer, he accepts.  Couple of days later I go to pick it up.

Gun was brought back from "The War" by the Wifes father.  (Delightful Lady)  Never been shot as far as she knows, been in her cedar chest the last 40 years.  I hand over the cash and depart.

Now, I thought I was buying a standard K-u-K M1912 army pistol.  Turns out it was a first year Commercial 1911.  The only real difference is markings and the front sight, but my goodness it turned out to be a good deal!

As you see, this loads with stripper clips, with a 9x23 cartridge, using a rotating barrel lock up.  Starline has brass, 38 super dies work just fine.  Really looking forward to seeing how this shoots.

I shot a modern combat type match years ago.  You didn't get to see the course of fire until you shot it.  It began with your own handgun and finished with a guest gun.  When I got to the table there was the Styer with a stripper clip full of ammo and a 1911 38 super mag.  I was into old guns even back then, I guess I was the first person who loaded the pistol properly.  I had never handled a Styer at that point in my life but I did understand the concept.  After finishing the match we were allowed to watch the rest of the shooters.  It was entertaining to watch people load the rounds into the mag from the clip and then attempt to figure out how to get the mag into the gun, almost everyone did this one way or another except the guy who won the match.  I ended up coming in second.
