I put my .44-40 Uberti 1860 Henry up for sale and one of the enquires asked the barrel length.

So I measured the barrel from the crown of the muzzle to the face of the action and the measurement was 21 & 3/8 inches.

The rifle was made in 1996 ( BH ).

It appears as a factory barrel.

When you describe the "face" of the action, are you describing the joint area between the barrel and frame, or of the breach end of the Barrel??  Correct measurement is from muzzle crown to breach.

I'd like to be able to feign surprise and amazement and conclude you might have a collector item.  But ....  I can't.  Over the years of manufacture, Uberti has made guns with some really strange barrel dimensions.  Some really "true" Trappers with 16inch barrels.  Some sorta Trappers with 18 1/2inch barrels.  Some Carbines with 19 1/4inch barrels.  Normal rifles at 24 1/4.  I wouldn't be surprised in the past of a rifle 21 3/8inches being called a carbine.  I bugged Uberti for a little over two years to get some 16inch Trappers made.

So, if your concern is holding tightly to a possible collector item, perish the thought.  Nothing made by Uberti is anywhere near being considered a collectable yet.  'Nother 100 years ..... maybe.
