Just cooked up that dove.  Thumbs up!

Mother is cooking enchiladas for a chaser, too.

I've found something that has helped my sinuses, if anyone is interested.  Every couple of hours, I've been drinking a cup of hot chocolate (Nestle instant powder in the tub, if anyone is wondering. about 2-3 tablespoons of powder per mug) with about two teaspoons of cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric, and 1 teaspoon of local honey mixed in.  So far it's helped.

I love the smell of Black Powder in the morning!

Depending on how she makes them, those enchiladas might help clear the sinuses, too.

Spent most of the afternoon and evening wrenching. The Mighty Dakota got a new radiator, so it can keep cool, and a new heater core so I won't have to keep cool. While I was at it, fixed one of the doors inside the heater box that's been messed up for years. So now I can have heat where I want it, instead of only on my feet. (Hooray for defrost!)

Morning y'all.
Coffee is hot.

Rained over night.
'Tis 55 and overcast. "Cloudy with showers likely in the morning...Then partly cloudy in the afternoon. Highs in the upper 60s. South wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 70 percent."

I recall being given homemade Elderberry wine once when I was down with the crud (flu like that time )  seemed to straighten me right up . That was up in Virginia early 90's, and made by the fellows Aunt I believe.
I can't find it here in the sunshine state... I've asked

Hope that everyone with the crud feels better soon!

It's about 70 degrees this morning, with the high in the mid-80's.  Had some rain showers already and more expected this evening.

Try one of them hipple herbal stores. I got two big sources here on the farm. Done for this season but made up syrup with it for the year.  Used some tupelo honey to add a little bit of sweetner to it.

Elderberries you say?  I happen to have a few jars of homemade elderberry jelly in the cupboard.  Might be time for a bit of toast.   ::)

Morning all.

All is sniffly on the western front.  But other than that, we're doing well.  Had a rabbit escape his enclosure this morning, so that involved a bit of chasing.  Tried luring him with food, but all we got was a fawn.  RIght idea, wrong species.

Afternoon all.

I've been eating elderberries like it's going out of style.  It's helped a little, I think, though that could just be the placebo effect.

Major, we figured out that the rabbit cage (cheapo cage from the WalMart pet department) got hit by a falling branch from teh tree it was under. Not a big branch, but enough to knock a wall off.  And we nabbed him with the old "surround him and jump" method.  I'd have been happy to shoot him, but he's a fairly expensive breeding rabbit, so that wasn't an option.  ::)

We also have a Forest Circus control burn about a 1 crow mile from my house.  Considering how they typically handle fires, I'm a little jittery.  We have CalFire land in between, which makes me feel safer since they have a "stomp it to oblivion" mindset when it comes to fires near town, but still...

Still lookin' at the grass from the green side.  Fall seems to have fell hereabouts, warm days cool nights - nice.  Mrs, Hairy and I celebrated 52 years of wedded bliss yesterday; it sometimes amazes me that she has tolerated my shenanigans so long, but we are truly two sides of the same coin.  I don't regret a single minute of these years.

Evening all.

Danged DOJ done messed everything up, and now I don't get my rifle until tomorrow or the day after.   >:(

I went for a short jog today.  About a mile at 4000 feet, but it went smoothly.  Got a new video recorded for my YouTube page, so now I'm working on that.
