 Have a box of 40/70 brass,,10 rds. loaded,,10 empty,,1 rd.empty is stamped C-C-C-40/60. The box is stamped 08-09- on the end "MIDWAY-USA,,,$23.00. The 40/70 trimed down to 40/60,,250grn. FNL,  37grs. GOLDEN,,What is golden powder.

Who's COMPANY, is C-C-C ??

C-C-C was Connecticut Cartridge Company.  They made both brass and loaded antique ammo back in the early '60's. One of their products was .45 Basic brass, which could be used to make .45-90 WCF and some longer rounds based on similar case heads. I seem to recall that they also made jacked flat softpoint bullets .337" in dia. for the .33 WCF and some 300 gr .45 cal. bullets as well.  Had to discontinue that type of product when 'Nam heated up and they got Gov't contracts to make (IIRC) .38 Special and 5.56 ammo.
