I love the smell of Black Powder in the morning!

Wonderful day for a match, shot clean(rare for me) but Drydock still beat me-he's probably half my time for reloads. Had a catered fried chicken dinner "with all the fixins" ate too much. Got home and we were invited over to some friends from church, ate too much again. Still feel bloated.

Morning all.  Opening day of deer season was Saturday.  Got out to my "special spot" that I've been scouting and watching for two years, and some people decided it was their spot.  >:(  The sucker sat upwind of where the deer are, were playing on their phones, and talking like they were at the Grand Ole Opry.   The annoying part is, even with all that the spot is still good enough that they killed one of the bucks I've been watching (took three shots form a belted magnum at under 100 yards.  Someone needs practice).  :o >:( >:( >:(  But, the joke's on them.  He was the smallest in the area.  ;)

Afternoon Y'all,I'm back from Heluva Rucus.Wasn't my best match but I had a great time.I had a huge trainwreck on the first stage with ammo problems and on the second day I had to stage DQ myself when I went to my gun cart before the unloading table and set my rifle down. Oh well,it still beats working for a living.

Mowed the empty areas in the new section today, then we got busy repairing post lamps this afternoon. Got around 5 of them working out of the 36 I surveyed last night ::)

Couldn't stay asleep, so I've a pot of coffee for any night owls out there.
I slept most of the weekend, and got up around 3 yesterday morning, so I've got out of synch.

Suppose to rain here.  We could use it.

Morning all.  I'll rewarm that pot. :)

Well, we've had an interesting past couple of days here.  The weather can't decide if it wants to be sunny and 90, or cloudy and 85.  Not much variance there. ::)  But at night, it gets down around 40 or less.  A couple days ago some friends up on a hill had to break the ice out of their chicken water. :o

Now my biggest news.  I'm going to be publishing my first ebook through Amazon here in the next month.  It's not very long, but it is "The Illustrated Pocket Guide to Surviving the Cascade Mountains."   The title pretty much explains it.  ::)  Right now all I have to do is some final editing, then finish the photography.  I'll crow loud and long when it's done. 8)

And the other thing.  My mom and I went out "hunting" yesterday (she can't walk much, so we do a lot of driving slowly along old back roads).  We were about 15 miles from the nearest town when all of the sudden, the car just died.  No warning, just cut out and wouldn't start.  We lucked out and managed to be in the only stretch of road for miles that had cell reception, so we got out in about three hours, but the car was still stuck there.  And my dad was 100 miles away for work.
Once my dad got home, we all piled into my truck with a tow strap and headed out there.  Then I towed our car for 15 miles from the middle of no place to the elementary school in that town on the end of a tow strap.  At 3 mph. and 9pm.  It took a while.  ::)  But now my mom has to use my truck to get to the city to get my sister to school.  And I'm stuck without transportation.

In other news, I start the paper work on my new Ruger today.  ;D

Thanks for the coffee.  Slight chance of rain today.  Highs in the low 90's.  Will cool off for the weekend, but it 'pose to rain each day.

Having a cup before I take Mrs. Red to the airport.  She's going to the Sunshine State to see her brother...possibly for the last time.  He's been on this earth for over 80 years.  His lungs have about given up, and he's withered to nearly just 110 lbs.  He's left quite a legacy in his family...had a bunch of kids, grand kids and great grand kids.

Morning all.  I have some hummingbird food if anyone wants that with their breakfast.  ::)

Temperature is about 35, and a light sprinkle wet stuff falling from the sky.  None of that evil wight stuff yet, but the deer are out moving.  Hopefully I'll get myself some venison stew for dinner tonight.  ::)
