Sunny and 80 here in Hutchinson KS, headed to 100 , or so say the weather guessers. Hope the heat wave doesn't extend all the way into CO. Was planning to camp(tent camp) around Canon city, but if it's near this hot, may have to go higher up in the mountains where it's cooler.

That dang Rooster again ...wide awake at 2:AM  :-\   actually no rooster just some kinda, weird time reversal awake VS sleep thing.

Four-Eyed Buck

This dang allergy/sinus thing is finally letting me sleep well again. Having trouble rolling out at 6 A.M. local in the mornings, though. We're in for a dose of extreme heat for the next few days, not looking forward to it. Seems at my age now, extremes of heat or cold don't agree with me very well :P ::)
I might be slow, but I'm mostly accurate.....

Up here in the mountains, right now it's cool, probably low 70's, might or might not rain, has sprinkled a little earlier. Was probably low 90's for a high, locals say that's pretty warm for here. Visited royal gorge bridge today, and traversed Canon City's Skyline drive, both not for the faint of heart! Skyline drive is about8-9feet wide, usually with shear dropoff on one(or sometimes both) side.

Night pot on.

Well, sometimes weather can be dang inconvenient.   I was supposed to leave for New Mexico Friday at 8am.  But I got an email from the boss this afternoon, saying that they had a thunderstorm earlier this week that started fires and tornadoes (I didn't know they had tornadoes in New Mexico.), and that the internet has been out at the ranch for 2 days and now all the hands are out fighting the fire before it burns too much graze on the three ranches in the area.  SO they don't have time for me yet. ::)  I'll probably leave Monday or Tuesday, though.  We'll see.

It's jacket weather here at about 7000' in the Colorado mountains. Maybe low 60's. Went over to Cripple Creek yesterday, Kids (and us) had fun riding the narrow gage train there. It's amazing to me how they could find routes to get trains up there, it's over 4000 feet of climb between Canon City and Cripple Creek, about 20 miles distance as the crow flies. The narrow gage engines they have mostly were from the mines in New Mexico, from the looks of the old boxcars and caboose there near the station, they were using standard gage trains when they were operating for real there.

Heading out soon, "Pike's Peak or bust"...

Just finished replacing the kitchen faucet. Ended up having to replace the shut-off valves and the supply lines also.  ::)
Had to go to Fleet Farm for the additional parts. Had a pleasant surprise at Fleet. They have 10% off everything until the end of the month in the form of a Fleet Farm gift card. I used it to fill the fuel tank of the caravan.  :)

'Tis 81 and sprinkling. Supposed to last about 4 hours.
