If you have H4895 laying around, like I do, this might help. I'm working on .30-06 loads for my 1917 Enfield. It does help if you have access to a chronograph.

That is very interesting. H4895 is moderately slow-burning but apparently Hodgdon's has checked it out.  I would still be very careful NOT to reduce loads below their 60% of maximum, and would definitely INCREASE above the 60% below max if there are any signs of pressure OR HANGFIRES!
