Coffinmaker

My Good Professeur,

Actually, I don't have a "Red Phone" hot line to the purveyors of fine ointments and snake oils at Taylors.  I do however have an "in" with
one of the prime movers and shakers at EMF.  Said "in" required copious amounts of Chocolate and the promise of Brownies.  Some
advantages come with a hefty "price."

The guns, as you have mentioned are ....... Pure Sex in Steel.  Absolutely.  Made from pure unadulterated gottahavium.  Not just plated
with gottahavium, SOLID gottahavium.  BRIBES have ben made.  Orders placed.  I am now wearing out a strip of fine Oriental Carpet as
I pace in glutinous anticipation.

Oh, almost forgot.  the new was actually sprung in the Last Ever issue of GOTOW by the esteem'd (just ask him) Dennis Adler.  And as
an additional, the original, to be forever conserved rather than play'd with, sold for $6,900.  I consider the asking price for the repo to
be quite acceptable at $395 MSRP.  I'll take two (Gunfighter) thank you  ;D

Professor Marvel

Say, Coffin, did you not make a set of these oncet upon a time ?

Being a cheap barstich penny-pinching scotsman frugal sort of person I thought to myskelf...

didn't pietta make an engraved 1851, that I could cut down? ( as if I have enough time to get enough sleep let alone take on another fascinating project -  [ Oh Ye Rolling Block Fixer Uppers  - Get Thee Behind Me! ]   )

then I looked and they cost as much as the project price of the Captn Schaeffer's !

I must get myself off mine hind end and get me to a magazine rack and buy the end-issue of the magazine afore they are all gone.

Coffinmaker is a visionary , here are his main match pair  :) made by him some time ago.

Coffinmaker

My Dear Perfesser,

As so kindly punctuated by the Good Major 2, yepper!!  Did build a set of rather becoming and Trix Snubbies.  Mine, however, as
shown, are .44s   They started life as Pietta "Marshals."  The Pietta Marshal starts at about the same MSRP as what is projected
for the Capt. Schaeffer Replicas.  I believe I mentioned, I am on EMF's list of "Call Immediately" and I have also proffered bribes.
Chocolate, Brownies, Embalming Fluid (Scotch), etc. in an attempt to accelerate my position on said list.

HOWEVER!!  No Matter!!!  Let us ALL remember "I" was FIRST!!  Nanny nanny Poo Poo  ;D

Professor Marvel

I cannot believe that John Bo first posted this back in May....

Now that the August Monsoons are upon us, my time is not my own!

Now that the internet is back ( everh time it rains hard, we lose the 'net ...)
and Before I go out on the roof to fix the leak around the stove pipe,  I must ask....

Is there any news on this delightful Colt?

NADA.... I impatiently wait my own self

I was told in the Fall,  August is still Summer .... one hopes Sept. but  :-\   Aug. is also Vacation month @  <FAP> Fabbrica Armi F.Lli Pietta ...

Coffinmaker

Summer - Schlummer - and ...... Phooey.  I want em NOW durn it!!

I must admit, it was a photograph of the original Colt Built Capt. Scheaffer pistol that inspired my version.  I built mine on Pietta
"Marshals" as I didn't want the expense and time of sending a pair of guns out to be Nickel'd.  Plus, I actually wanted .44s 'cause
I was planning to use them as Main Match.  Which, incidentally, I do.  My favorites.  HOWEVER:

Then I saw the article in the very last ever never more forever GOTOW about Pietta having the effrontery to copy MY custom Snubbies
as their inspiration!!  Harumpff!!  (think they really paid any attention to mine??)  Yepper, here they come.  Pietta's very own Capt.
Scheaffer Snubbies.  Made from pure, unadulterated, GOTTAHAVIEUM!!

Coffinmaker

pony express

Coffinmaker-admit it, when and if you get a pair of them, after a while, even those barrels will begin to seem a bit long. Sooner or later, you alter ego, "The Hacksaw" will just have to try and trim a few thousandths off of them.

Lefty Dude

I wonder if it will come tuned and ready for competition out of the box ? Or will it be a Deluxe Kit like all Pietta's ?

We shall see !!!!!!!!!!

Nice piece, I want one or two.

Major 2

;D ... " very last ever never more forever GOTOW "

Not so fast it seems.... Harris Group sold the Title to a publisher in Tenn.
and they are signing agreements with La-Vista Bill & Bottom Dealing Mike to contribute to the resurrected Guns Of The Old West

Now, I taking bets which I will see first ...a Fall issue of GOTOW or a fall delivery of my  Capt. Schrieffer snibby  :-\

dad burn typo  U & i are to close  That's  SNUBBY  :)
when planets align...do the deal !

Thumb Buster

Major 2...that is good news as I was always looking forward to GOTOW.  Around these parts in the Indian Territory they don't seem to stay on the rack very long, so one has to be 'Johnnie-on-the-spot'.  Gonna' save my pennies and my dimes for one of those snubbies.  Perhaps they'll be a bit better out-of-the-box requiring a wee bit less tinkering.  Yeah...right!   ::)

Coffinmaker

Aw Cummon Lefty!!  Ye of little Faith  :o
You know as well as I do, they will be very functional Pietta "KITS."  The bolts won't fit the Cylinder, The hand spring will need tuned or
tossed for Spring/Plunger, ALL the moving parts will need rubbed-n-buffed.  You know, all those things that make playing with em so
much fun!!

Pony Express:
I'm aghast.  That you could or would think that I would defile a Scheaffers.  Ah, How long you think the barrel should be??  Fwoopa, fwoopa, fwoopa, fwoopa.  Hacksaws-r-us  ;D

Coffinmaker

Pettifogger

I know everyone will hate me but I think it looks goofy.  The loading lever is completely non-functional and silly looking.  It is so short you can't even get a lever extension on it.  Would would look better, in my opinion as a humble peasant, would have been to leave the lever off and have the barrel left solid where the lever and rammer would have been.
