Found my self a project (huge project)  :-\
It is missing all intestines and i would like to know if parts from the Pocket might fit?
Frame is shorter than the 1851

Five shots .36 cal and a suspiciously long cylinder. Belgum made, can't say what year.

Who knows.  Frame and cylinder are much longer than a pocket.  Buy the parts and see.

Hi Qball  ;D

How are ya??  Anyway, I'm with Pettifogger.  That is one strange animal.  Only thing to do is pick up some parts and try em.  Or make a
real neat "board" for display and put it up onna wall!!

How much does parts from a say Colt 1851 differ from a Colt 1849 Pocket?
I'm on a tight budget so buying stuff that goes in to a drawer is a no no
(say the better half of me = the spouse  ;) )

Qball,

This is just my opinion,
The original '49 internal parts will not interchange with the '51, '61 or 1860 Army. (These last three are interchangeable with each other within the original Colts.)
I can not say what or how interchangeable the " Colt Brevete" might be with other Colts.
I would assume Pocket Model '49's would be interchangeable with other similar model Colt made guns, this includes the '62 Pocket Navy and Police revolvers.

A problem you may run into is with the screw dia. and thread pitch with a Belgum made variation? I have no idea what these might be within the historic time period?
I wish you the best of luck on this project, and will offer any help I can with a few Belgum made copies of British firearms.
My best,
Blair

Professor Marvel

Greetings My Good QBall

Now that TWKMTI  (Those Who Know More Than I)  have offered their sage advice, allow me to babble endlessly.

Since I too collect obsolute rusted junk strange orphaned hardware, I am always on the lookout for "what the hell can I make fit in here" parts.

Since the basic design is the same as the colt, one only needs to work out the dimensions. For Example, I have and old Small Odball Italian steel Remmy 1858 frame & barrel that I got cheap but now have to fit or manufacture parts since they went out of business before I pulled a taxable paycheck :-(

So - get your calipers out, make some measurements of the frame holes, spacing , etc, and post some photos or a xerox of the fram on a grid .... then we can put our heads together and measure the crap in our junkbox precious parts in our libraries and see what might fit ....

Cylinder hand might work, trigger likewise (allthough it's from a Remington, i'll file it down to specs)
Cylinder stop is way to long,

sooo.... does any one have a broken, worn out piece from a Colt Pocket to donate for my wreck?  ::)

Springs and screws i'll make  ;)
