My Pard and I shot our 1st SASS match of the season today.  I missed ONE target.  If you're going to miss, do it right away.  That way you won't piss and moan so much when you do it on the last stage.  You ask, "so when did you miss, Dick".  I answer, on my last shot on the last stage.  That's the shot that really hurts.

So, if you're going to miss, do it right off the bat on the first stage.  Then, you can relax and go for speed with no worries about a miss.

Oh well, I had tons of fun.  The Rock River Regulators put on a great match.  The lunch was yummy and I had a CLEAN match, -1. . .

Just to bring you back to reality! A bit of a disappointment, thinking you had a clean shoot in the bag, only to drop  shot at the curtain call.

Like I used say at work every afternoon, 'well, we'll keep coming back until we get it right.'
All my cowboy gun's calibres start with a 4! It's gotta be big bore and whomp some!

Glad the snow has finally melted down to allow you to be shooting again.
The Darby Rough Regulators will have our 5th Saturday match this weekend if the range is not under water.
The forecast is for 3" or more this coming week. Even is we can't shoot the grass is green, cows are dropping baby calves, and all is right with the world.

I am kindred. I seem to either miss on the first stage of the match (one miss total) or on the last stage of a two day shoot. ARRRRGGGHHHhhhh....!!!

Since I have 14+ guns, I've been called the Imelda Marcos of Cap&Ball. Now, that's a COMPLIMENT!

It was a rifle miss.  I had already cleaned the stage up to that last shot.  Maybe I was too sure of myself?  Anyway, I'll for sure shoot my next match clean.  Just you wait and see. . . ;)

I shot my first match of the year yesterday and had a clean.............stage. Got rid of the "clean match stress" with the first shot of the day. Didn't have the clean one until the last stage. Guess that's how long it took to learn to shoot again.

Rust is rampant early in the season.  Probably the best time to get some funny videos. .

Sort of like capping and EMPTY cylinder??  Kinda Sorta???  Not that I've actually done that.  Don't ask how I know how funny it is on
the first stage.  I'll deny everything.

One of the advantages I have in shooting my 1860 open tops with Kirst Konverter cylinders is that they have only 5 holes.  With only five chambers I have only to fill them all with Cowboy 45 Special ammo and I'm good to go.  FWIW, the hammer sits on a detente between two chambers and is thus SASS legal.

I sure like the way those 1860s fit my hands and the way they point.  Think it, shoot it. clang.  No need to aim.
