Just in case anyone is looking for one, S & S Firearms now has reproduction Lee Navy belts in stock.  We'd sure like to see someone shoot one at the Muster!  (Hint, Hint!)

I wish they'd had them when I was trying to put together my impression!

It doesn't mention them, but you'd need the web crossed shoulder support straps for them, in that same Navy blue webbing.

Cool!

I know they at least used to have the suspenders in kit form.  Don't know if they still do.

Availability+cost+2 boys in college=no go unless I find one where the seller has no idea what it is.

I meant other than that stuff...............I have the same problems, but I like to have other people buy neat stuff and bring it to the National Muster so I can look at it!

Here's one!

So the forend has been shortened! I bet if you showe'd up at a Muster with it, you'd get to shoot!

I'd even vote to let you shoot this one!

If I showed up somewhere and they wouldn't let me shoot it, I'd just take my toys elsewhere! More likely I'd spend all my time wiping up fingerprints and drool....

I suddenly have this image of several of us, up at the campsite, crawling around on our hands and knees, looking for an extractor . . .

If whoever brought one got disgusted with it, I'd trade them a GEW88 for it.....(especially that sporting rifle!) well, at least that worked for Marines in China....

OK here is an 1895 Lee Navy Rifle listed late yesterday on Gun Broker with Buy Now of $1,850 (less than I paid for mine in an auction)
http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=551308028

It's already got the front sight cover and appears to only be missing the rear sling swivel.  However the repro sling from S&S comes with the sling hardware http://www.ssfirearms.com/proddetail.asp?prod=LN34

I'm with you there Pony-always wanted a Lee Navy! But if I was in China back in 1900-well-I can see with 20-20 vision why the Marines picked up those M1888s and commenced to using them!

Grenadier

Jerry Lee from WPG made an appearance this past weekend at the Great War event in Newville PA. He had one of his Lee belts on hand and it was top quality. He also mentioned that he is under development to produce woven cartridge belts for Springfield 45-70 and for the Krag rifles. He did not mention which models would be available but they are in the works.

Drydock

A Krag double row mills Cavalry belt with the additional pistol loops would be most welcome!
