Coverting .38-40 cylinder to .44-40

After perusing the information in Kuhnhausen's manual, it looks as if this should amount to running a .44-40 finish reamer into the .38-40 cylinder.  Anyone know if that's the case?  Thanks!

 I bet that would work, but what about finding a 44-40 cylinder? The 38-40 cylinders are desirable for those who want to shoot their 41 Colts but don't want  the hassle of loading 41 Colt ammunition.

   ETA- I bought a 1st Gen 38-40 cylinder, to use with my old 41 Colt Bisley, on the Colt forum for $60. You might check over there for a 44-40 cylinder.

Because you can get a more precise chamber to groove diam. match with a custom reamer = better accuracy. However, the caveat is that you need to see the specs for the 44-40 reamer to be used to know beforehand. I have had four 44-40 cylinders reamed with a special finish reamer and all were 'one holers' afterwards. However, the gunsmith who did them is no longer in business to the best ofmy knowledge.
