I don't really see a big deal,.......I use to set around work making the cups I use,......use to make a couple hundred a night.....then I'd finish them as necessary......

QuoteBut JB, the puny tubes on .22 rifles are more prone to fouling than the larger bore rifle barrels.  If you are manufacturing 22LR for a belly gun, that'll work, especially in a derringer where it's easy to swab those short barrels.
Dick, reference fouling ... 4.5gr of Swiss Null B at 1030 fps  I've shot the reloads out to 100yds with patching every 10 rounds or so (light foul) and held the accuracy

I guess this is cheating because for my Sharps I use the Charlie Hahn paper tubes. Oddly enough for the base paper I use Subway Sandwich shop wrappers which are strong enough and the cap flash punches through no problem. Quick and easy and makes a very durable cartridge.

But .... But ..... what about the sandwich dressing??  Don't all those greasy spots foul the powder  ::).  I should also think the Mustard and Katsup smears would also have somewhat adverse effects??  Splotches of Mayonnaise ??  Bit gooey I should think.  Ugh.

Of course, if your buying 5 foot longs a week for lunch, the wrappers would pile up pretty quick  8)

Thanks Sarge
I just shoot for fun and really don't try to be too period correct. i have rolled a gang of cartridges, but found Hahn tubes saves so much time and ,frankly, just too lazy to do that much hand work for ammo..
The NSSA allows the tubes and with a Rapin or Moose ring tail bullet is very accurate. Sometimes a piece of tube is left in the breech I either shake it out and load or push it out of the way and blow it down the bore.
My Sharps is the Pedersoli Confederate copy Sharps with the Hahn machine works modification. Fun gun to shoot but I am not a reinactor just a fun shooter.

Friend Coffinmaker
While I am from Texas that does not mean I am a sloppy eater, actually known to br quite fastidious and neat. But mustard, mayonnaise,
Pica de gallo, avocado and ranch dressing (what else?) in the munitions and you could say I am a seasoned shooter.

It's so so nice when one's ammunition is described as "Simply Delicious."  And you can even eat the dishes!!
