Guessers were wrong again. Only 5" instead of the 10"-14"+.  ::)

Had a 7 mm Venezuelan Mauser carbine in my hands today. Made by FN.

You should bring that to Nebraska this June. Wear some blue and white pin stripe pajamas and a big straw hat and be a Spanish soldier.

SEVERE WEATHER WARNING: Tornado Watch in Effect for St. Cloud, FL.
We are under the gun tonight, ground zero in a corridor running from West Lake Tohopekaliga ( Kissimmee ) NE through Canoe Creek, Deer Run (my area ) to Alligator Lake , 1/4 mile due east of me. Then on over to Harmony, Holopaw & Deer Park.
The first alarm warning went off at 9: PM , piercing sound those things... Major lighting show.
We've had some high wind gusts and VERY HEAVY Rain...

Kind calm now, not really sleeping kinda listening and watching the broadcast....
I know it's nothing new to you Mid Westerners  :-\

I can't tell from that angle, is it a small ring action, or large? I think a small ring would qualify for main match, I know I have been approved on a Spanish Guardia Civil rifle converted to .308.

Wake up you slugs, coffee is on.   ;D
I resemble that remark...
Supposed to be in the low 80's today.  I'm going to the range (if I ever get moving), and try out my newly smith'd Pietta 1860 Army revolvers, and my Pedersoli Trapdoor carbine with my home-made firing pin.  This is the second pin the TD has broken, and I've had two on back order from VTI since November when I bought the first replacement.  I fashioned one out of a de-priming pin from an RCBS sizing/de-priming die.  It pops the primers fine....now I need to see how it does with really ammo.

Major 2

We survived over 8" of rain (more coming ) two Tornado warnings Thur. night, when we were in the cross hairs & again
yesterday afternoon .... only damage ( wind) was 200' section of board fence down the road, was listing 45 degrees to port .
Lot of standing water...with luck it wipe out the Love bug swarm in April.  ::)

Helped stuff gift bags for Lady's day at the range this morning , we set a new record over 400 bags in 40 minutes... lots of neat stuff too.
The Ranges Lady's day is next Saturday, Huge turnout last year, 319 ladies most had never shot or very little .

This year we signed out 400 openings  in less than a day and a 1/2  ...We are private range/club and ladies show great interest.
Speaks well for Shooting in general  and every discipline is well attended.

If a Major wants to get anything to march, he's gonna have to find a Sergeant to make it happen!

Four-Eyed Buck

We're in the 50's today with sun. It was kinda chilly this morning, though. office lady asked me if'n I was cold. Had my heavy coat on and my hoodie. Never know when you're going to get stuck outside around here ::) ;)
