I have some chey cast bullets to load in my 44wcf . They are black powder lubed and I have them loaded with Old E powder . The weather is pretty chilly today so hope I can shoot tomorrow . Will post pictures later .

Please post your results! I've been shooting my '66 44-40 an obscene amount lately. Loving the BP!

The weather will not let up . We watched it snow again this weekend . When the weather breaks I will try my new load and report my findings .

Today was beautiful . I shot about 20 test rounds and things are looking good .  Trying to dial it in on the BEST load .

Today was a great day . Worked with various loads using Old Eynsford black powder . Tried 2f and 3f over the chronograph and velocities were all real consistent . Looking for a 1300 + fps that will print a nice small shot group . If it won't group at 50 yards it sure wont group at 100  or farther . The bullets are a .429 and carry a fair amount of grease . Plan on loading several rounds to shoot at different ranges next shooting session . I noticed a nice grease ring at the muzzle when I was cleaning .

I am loading 35 grains . I have been weighing them  . The 3f is pretty hot .

That 3F is feisty in my SAA clones! 250grn bullet over 40grns 3F OE

Yeah... Kinda....ahem...make me think a little about using Schofeld brass and 230 grn bullets with 28 grns 3F now..... :-[

I do love using it to show others what original Old West guns could do back then. Opens a few eyes!!!
