What's incredible to me is that in the almost 70 yrs. that the 1st Gen. was made that far more changes weren't made to the design, mainly the antiquated two fingered pawl (hand), cam & springs. Even Ford didn't make the Model T  for more than 20 yrs.  ;)

Ha!! Well, if it ain't broke, don't fix it!! (Just tune it!!!)

Jimeast,
 Here are some pics.
The first is the stop and the clearanced section of the hammer.
Second is the main against the stop.
I just threw in the third one to show the sealed ball bearings in the hammer.  Absolutely no side to side movement but forward and backward is amazing!!!

So where is the set screw inserted at initially? I am assuming a hole is drilled through the TG?

45 Dragoon

Right here.

Drill, tap, bottom tap. I don't drill all the way through, doesn't look professional to do so and once adjusted, your done (unless the hammer /trigger is replaced or trigger job is done).

Awright Monsieur Dragoon,
My pictures won't post to the forum.  Drat.  How about a couple of yours to also show the action/overtravel stop for the Colt type SA??
I'm sure there are many who would appreciate it.

Thanks Mike!
I'll try some more.
The first one is a stop for an open top. The second one may be a repeat but it is still part of the open top "fix". It's a cap post screwed in place.

Thanks Mike!!
Way Cool.  I think it's good for folks to see what we actually do to make the Cap Guns run every bit as good a suppository shooters and,
actually, in many cases, better.

Nope.  A few of us make a quick run up to the SHOT Show every year to meet and greet our sponsors and to look for new ones.  All I had was a couple of Miller Lites.   :-\  Now I'm back and working on Winter Range again.
