Vegas - 2015 SASS Convention Color Guard

Calling all GAF or SASS members with military uniforms attending the 2015 SASS Convention in Vegas. I've been asked by Misty to recruit a color guard for the opening of the Ball Saturday night and for the main opening ceremony Thursday morning. So if you are willing to participate with one or both of these, please let me know. You can post here or send me a PM

In the past when we did the opening to the ball there was time to meet to discuss the details and practice. I will be arriving Wednesday in enough time to check out the room for the Thursday morning opening color guard and work out what we can do. It would be nice to talk with anyone else arriving that day also so we can coordinate for the next morning.

Sorry for the late notice as it is only 4 weeks away.  I was not able to confirm I could attend until very recently.

I'll be there and participate in the color guard.  Same as last year --Cav. Sgt. uniform and Trapdoor Carbine for opening. Lt. Col. for banquet.

I can help out again this year as well.  I'm planning on arriving on Wednesday afternoon/evening.  I will be attending the banquet this year so I can help with both events this year.  I'll do my standard Captain for both events.  I'ill be driving and I could bring long guns if anyone needs them.

Scout, I had planned on attending the SASS convention however, fate interviened and for the first time in my life I was drawn for an Elk Tag for a 4-10 December hunt.  I should be out in the woods 1 or 2 Dec.

I have the honor to report that the Grand Army of the Frontier provided the Color Guard for both the main opening ceremony of the SASS Convention as well as the opening for the Ball at the Convention.  It was held in Las Vegas, NV December 3rd – 6th of 2015.  I wish to recognize the following who participated in the Color Guards:

The center aisle was tight but we managed to fit 4 shoulder to shoulder through the space, advanced forward then wheeled on the center to face the front of the room.  We saluted during the pledge, posted the colors up on stage, reassembled on the main floor and then marched off in line.
