Described as a Spencer New Model 1865 Rifle, it appears to have '65 hammer and '65 front sight but does not have the Spencer cutoff and photos just do not show the top of the breech well enough to see if the shoulders are rounded. But not a bad looking rifle for $2250.

Snakeeater,

There are a good number of component parts that would indicate a model 1865 Rifle.
However, the two band (instead of three bands), forearm with band retaining springs on the side of the stock (instead of being on the bottom), would indicate a Springfield modified variation.
Overall, it looks like a very nice Rifle.
My best,

1863 model rifle serial number as mentioned many 1865 parts. The foe stock is very interesting as it has the shape of the 1863 Spencer just in front of the action but is fitted with the Springfield style double bands and retaining springs.Could be a Springfield conversion or a parts rifle put together after the company went under

Looks like a brass nose cap on the gun.  Weren't all the nose caps steel?

That looks like something put together from parts many years ago. I have a post was springfield Spencer. It is very different from this one.

Given as much more wood was present on the Springfield forestock, if someone sanded (and reduced) the extent of the forestock, it would likely have require re-inletting for the band springs and this might have permitted the band placement to be changed. As for the front stock tip, it looks to be steel and may have that yellow, brass-like tinge due to the reflection of the top of the oak gun rack below it. May be the lighting as well. Also, looking at the close-up (third photo from top), it looks to have a gap between the head of the screw and the lower block where one would expect to find the Stabler device. So it may well have been one of the Springfield rebuilds but was later altered by someone else.

Also advertised by same seller is a Model 1882 Spencer slide-action shotgun -- $1,795

This post is one of the great reasons, I really like this website. I learn history and nuances of Spencer Guns and civilwar history every time I log on.  I noticed in the pictures that the serial number is 2425, but in the listing it says #3363. Am I going blind or is the 3363 referencing some other stock number? This same rifle was for sale back in June 4th 2015 on GunsInternational.com site by the way for the same price.

They have special "inventory" numbers for all the weapons on their web site and the #3363 is just that, a inventory stock #.  The #2425 is the serial # for Spencer.
