Another one for Two Flints

Hi Two Flints;
You helped me out on some Starr carbines I have . I was hopping that you may be able to help out with a Starr revolver I have also. It is a 1863 S.A. model ser. # 37981 . It has been sitting on my work bench for some time in need of some T.L.C. . Well I finally have some time to devote to it. It is all cleaned up and I have just a few teaks to do with the cylinder stop. As I have been working on it I was thinking of all the hands it has went through before resting in mine . So I did some searching on line to no avail and then remember how you helped me out with the serial numbers on the two Starr carbines.

Hi John,

Not much Starr Revolver serial # information available in my research books, just one page,  . . . the closest Starr Serial # I found to your #37981 is #38172, a Starr Revolver issued to Company F, 6th Michigan Volunteer Cavalry on February 2, 1865.

Thank you for looking for me. I just got back from the N-SSA fall nationals . Cold , windy and wet !!! Still had a great time. But I came down with something from being out in the weather all that time . I saw your post I hope you are getting better !!!
