I don't suppose it will be available in .36? 'Cuz I would be interested in a pair of those.

EDIT
Oh man, the more I look at this, the more I like it. Not overdone, and the black and silver look good together. I want.

Lefty Dude

It will be in .36 cal. My "Wild Bill Hicock" model, which is factory lazer engraved and a 51/36. I just checked the pattern to see if it is the same.
Similar but different. Mine has the two piece white PVC grips. Sure do like the one piece checkered.

Cliff Fendley

That looks like a 44 with the stepped cylinder

Do you have a link or source? I can't seem to find anything about this by searching.
Is the frame stainless, or plated, or what?

Jake C

Oh man. If it's well made (steel frame and all that) and in .36, I might sell my firstborn for one. That is a gorgeous revolver.

For a 44 the frame must be stepped. Frame shown is straight. A stepped cylinder will not fit in a straight 51 frame. I know, I have both and tried, no go.

Hopefully it is a 51/36. :)

Looks like it has Pietta's SAA grip instead of the Navy grip.

I think it will be a .44

I have a digital version of their 2012 catalog that had a similar configuration.  Not engraved, and it was in the white or nickled, but had the stepped cylinder and straight frame, and was a .44

I have a pair of discontinued .44 Pietta 51 Navy Colt US Marhall's that are engraved brushed steel. To me, they put a longer barrel and different checkered grips on the Colt frame

Looks like the cylinder is cut for larger caliber but not the frame, makes no sense?  Th tiny step did not, perhaps, show up on the frame???

Major 2

I'm not thinking that is an actual photo of the real gun... it appears a computer drawn prototype likeness.

when planets align...do the deal !

Major 2,

Computer animation maybe very likely.
It could just be a computer combination of an 1860 cylinder on a '72 Open Top frame with an 1851 barrel rifled for a .44 cal.
Pretty to look at... but not historically correct. Sorry, Just another Italian doodad!

Well, it's definitely not a '72 Opentop frame.  The hammer nose protrudes through the frame cutout, and Pietta doesn't make a '72 anyway.  But I could possibly buy into it being a "digital error" from their photoshop department.  And that could be the same for the gun from their 2012 catalog I mentioned earlier, which you can see here: http://davidscottharper.com/photos/PiettaREBIG44JJ%20SX.jpg

Does anybody know why Pietta does not update its website? I have been there a few times but only today noticed it appears to have been untouched since 2008.

Coffinmaker

Allow me to speculate too !!

Lefty, I have two sets of Pietta '51 Frames that can and do accept Pietta stepped 44 cylinders and barrels.  Center axis of the barrels and chambers of the cylinders align perfectly.  they look a little strange, but they work just fine.
I would be willing to guess, the "frame" is the same high polish in the "white" heat treated sort used for the "Marshal" '51s.

45Dragoon - - Yea buddy.  But, we'd loose the engraved cylinder.

Por Moi - - - The lazer engraving on the barrel stops just right to cut that sucker to 3 inches, dovetail front sights and make
a Stop Traffic Gorgeous ......... SNUBBIE!!  Yessssssssssssss.  Ouuuuuu.  Could do a Snubbie with Gated Conversion, yes I could.
you betcha.

I'm also betting it's an actual Photo of the Real Deal.  I just gotta have a PAIR!!!  Gunfighter dontcha know!!!

Lightning ..... Ye Be Kerect Matie!!  Pietta hasn't changed their sight since 08.  Dunno why not.  There are some guns on it that make me drool, but have never been brought into this country.

Anybody notice that Navy Gripframe does NOT have the "Trombone Bell" at the bottom of the grip??  Way KOOL!!

Except

I don't shoot nor like Navy Gripframes.  But ..... I think I COULD like those ....... Yum!  ;D
