Had a beautiful dry day here-up till about 6PM. Then the sky grew dark, and a great gully washer came down for about an hour. Caught me in the middle of changing the oil in my Dakota, but I had all done except re-filling it. Went out to my reloading shed instead, water was blowing in under the door, and even at the crack at the top of the door!(just a shed type door, not like a house door)

Major 2

rained all afternoon into the evening , sometimes very heavy , though the thunder was abated later.

heading over to a crowded gun show 60 miles away , on the off chance I might find some scalper priced 22's holds no appeal...

$48-50+ a (500) brick is about 10 cents around .... I paid  $9.99 per hundred count box ...about a cheap as I find around here anymore.

Currently in the 80's here, looks to be some rain to the west of us. Might get interesting later ::)

Had some storms yesterday evening, about half inch of rain, but there were some pretty high winds with it. Trees and branches down in Massillon and Canton areas. The park to the south of us just into Tusc. county had some skirting blown off and a carport was lifted off it's mounts. The east(newer side) of our park was without power from the evening to about two hours ago. ::)
I might be slow, but I'm mostly accurate.....

Blair

Major 2,

Any luck with the .22 stuff?
Did you find any other goodies worth talking about while at the show?
My best,

No   :( Blair,
found out yesterday, there's a guy that's been buying up 22's at Bass Pro & Walmart , brings several people to buy them
he then hits the guns shows with scalper prices ....
I paid  $9.99 for Winchester Super X  ( 100  count ) 3 box max. Bass Pro yesterday ( John Holmes stop by Melbourne Bass Pro this morn. to get me 3 more they are sold out  again )

I held no thrill, in going to the show and pay @ his ripoff greed ....
the SOB scalper is @  $19.99 + tax ( same box of 100 )   ::)

Besides,  I had to go to the Convention Center (over see some work) this morning  ::) for few hours ...

Marinade grilled chicken with dirty rice last night.  Tonight it's marinade pork steaks with leftover dirty rice and grilled corn on the cob.

Filled up another half dozen lawn bags with grass clippings today.  May have to mow twice a week to keep things neat.

I have a very good friend of mine coming down from VA on or about the 17th of this month to pick up my Gatling Gun.
He will take it back up to Va. and carry it to a much larger number for gun shows than we have here in FL.
It is a pretty big $ gun, but has all the bells and whistles to go with it, including the trailer, try pod and field carriage.
A couple of weeks ago he took my 1865 Maynard Sporting Rifle back with him. This too had all the goodies that go with it too, including a scope.
All of this is in an effort to start down-sizing my collection. Sell off the big $ stuff first.

Not to mention the BETTER shows ,  except when the snow bird dealers filter down in the winter...
about all we see is down here is .... black guns , swat wear , kitsch knockoff Chinese ,India & Pakistani "crap" Knives
and Joe Ripoff's  Double Retail Plus Cartridge Emporium  ::)
Most of the time a better deal walks through the paid attendance door slung over his shoulder....

With exception of the Melbourne Show last winter I haven't bothered to attend a Florida show in many years.

You'll do well in the Va.,Maryland & Penn. Tri- areas ...they have both the money & the good stuff.
I've seen really good pieces, from estates & collections up there....
Good Shows in the West & Mid-west too.

Heck maybe the "Automatic Fire Adrenaline Attraction"  , Machine Gun America should buy it  ;)

Good Luck Blair ...hope you make a bundle  :)
