Here are a couple of pics of some of my older SAA's.  I've still got a couple I haven't got any pictures of yet, but will post them once I get caught up some. Enjoy.

This are a couple of my oldest SAA.

And here are a couple of other older guns. The 1879 is in need of some work, while the 1881 has been completely redone by Dave Lanara and is like new.  ;D

Here are a couple of early 1900 era guns I've found. The 1901 has been refinished and rebuilt using second gen parts to become a Buntline before I got hold of it. The 1906 also now has a 41 lc cylinder to go with it, but I need to get the hammer notches rebuilt.

Very nice!  Do they get shot?

All have been except for the 44 wcf, it's just not tight enough at the moment. And I've gotten a 41LC cylinder to fit to the 38 wcf. The 1876 SAA has only been fired a couple of times, I've got plenty of other Colt and USFA single actions to shoot. The 1881 refurbed one is a blast as it's back in new condition, but I still only run black powder cartridges thru them.
I've also got an 1891 that was fitted with a 3rd gen cylinder and was refinished in an almost 'millennium' style of finish. I've shot it for years and it was my carry gun whenever I needed one when I was younger. Amazing what a 250 gr lead slug pushed by 37 gr of black will do and looks like at night out of a 4 3/4" barrel. ;D

Thanks for the look at your fine old Colt's . ,,,,DT

DT, it's nice to be able to share them with like minded people who appreciate the old war horses. :) Lot of the youngers tend to go all flashy or 'black' gun type. :'( I've never been one drawn to the flashier engraved or gussied up SA's. Plain blue an case, but I do love a set of old ivories. :D When I had the 1881 done by Dave, I figured I really ought to have 1 Sunday Go To Meeting Colt. And I've discovered it's a lot of fun getting the older ladies back to the ball.
Maybe later this year I'll try a match with my two 1891 vintage 45s and an 1882 Win '73 in 44. ;)

I can only imagine.
Once I chronographer 37grs of 3FG & a 255gr bullet from a 5-1/2" & I got mid 900s.
I've heard they go 1000 in a 7-1/2" & I can believe it. Great Grandfather had a powerful six-gun W/BP!

;D It's bad enough being on the delivering end, don't even want to think about being on the wrong end.  :o

Awesome Old Colts.  Thanks for sharing!
