Birthday coming up and I had a few extra dollars in my pocket, so I made the usual trip to Dixon's Muzzleloading Shop in PA with Dixie Bill and John Boy. The place is like stepping back in time as the first thing you see upon entering is two glass cases full of cap & ball pistols. They must have seen me coming as there was a nice shiny new Uberti 1860 Army there on the counter. Since these are nice people, I felt compelled to take it off their hands. Going back soon as I get some more money!
Also, about a month ago I ordered a copy of "The Guns of Billy the Kid" from Caravan West. It never showed up. I contacted them and was given a phone number. When I called, I actually got Peter Sherayko himself. He took the time (about 20 min.)to talk about things(guns mostly) in general and after which said he would take care of the problem personally. What a pleasant way to resolve a problem! Of course, after reading about this man over the years I was not surprised at the friendly, dignified manner in which he conducted himself. Two days later(yesterday) I got the Billy the Kid DVD along with a autographed picture of old Texas Jack himself!
And the first Cowboy shoot of the year is coming up this Sunday. Hope all my friends are in good health and lets get to shootin!!

Glad to hear things are going well.  Happy birthday.  Life is good.

Peter is a nice guy.  He stopped by our tent at Winter Range, and one of our guys asked him, "How are you doing?"  His response, "Great!  I woke up this morning feeling like a 21-year-old!  Couldn't find one, though."
