Major 2

I see what I can do....

My Douglas is 32 Cal. Flintlock, I asked once and I believe, Caleb said "no to flintlocks" or discouraged them  :-\ perhaps.
never pursue beyond that...

My Henry's would serve well enough for the era.

Thanks for the welcome Dave, although I've been a member for a while now(No.49). I don't post a lot on any forum unless I have a question, but I do enjoy reading what other people have to say.

Thanks Major. My first app. is on Wed. The dentist is going to try and shore up the bottom teeth that got knocked loose. Those bottom teeth are going to have to heal up before he can set me up with a plate for the top teeth that got knocked out.

My rifle doesn't have an adjustable sight, unless you classify a dovetail (wind-age) as adjustable.

Quick Fire

Does your rear sight not have an adjustment screw for elevation?  I'm only trying to play the devil's advocate here, so you don't get disappointed by a disqualification at some point.

Quick Fire

No, it doesn't. I changed it out years ago and put in a buckhorn. ;)

Major2, I always thought you were a member but I'd be glad to add you to the stockade. Do you have an email address you can send me in a PM so that I can have the Marshall add you in?

Well, would you like to Charles? I've always appreciated our discussions.

QF:  then you're set to go with your Mt. Rifle.  In my opinion, it is the most authentic production rifle as far as looking historically correct.

Douglas Barrel is just down the road from where I live. As far as I know, they stopped producing BP barrels decades ago. However, they do occasionally pop up locally from old time gun builders. I have a .32 squirrel rifle built with a Douglas Barrel. Unfortunately, my Yahoo cousin had it for awhile and fired it with Pyrodex and never cleaned it. I have been tempted to call them to see if they could rebore it for me....matter of fact, I am gonna call them right now.

Grenadier;  Any progress on this project?

Sorry, I forgot to report back.

They cannot help me, sold all of their equipment two decades ago. I'm probably going to send it to Bobby Hoyt and have it bored to a .36
