Blue Wolf

I was wondering about how many 38 cases would a pound of APP produce.

7000 grs. per pound, whether it be lead or feathers.
That is measured by weight... NOT by volume.

I can do the math but I was wondering what othere were actually getting. Maybe I should have re-phrased the question.

I would say you will get more loads per pound with APP than the Holy Black. APP requires very little compression, Black requires more compression than APP.
I load APP for just a kiss of the bullet. And no compression.
Number of loads per pound will vary, according to the loader doing the reloading.
For a 38 case, load to the base of the bullet. Remove the bullet, weight the charge and do the Math. Now you have your Volume of APP.
For The Holy Black, use the case as a measure. Fill the case to the mouth, seat a bullet with compression. More Powder will be used.

This may seem a little smart a$$.  That's cause it is.  I've found I can load .38 cases with APP right up until the bottle runs out  ;D
I would be more specific if pressed by saying .......... A lot.

You will now have the WEIGHT of each charge, then do the arithmetic.

Bullet just touching powder,I get 492 per pound. I was just wondering if anybody else got this amount or more/less.

I don't have enough toes for a base ten system. I had to use the calculator as it works on base two.
