Been thinking real hard about one of these . Have you got one or had one ? Just wanting to hear from other shooters about these .

So that would be the Model P 4 3/4 in 44WCF ?

Rowdy:

I was planning on buying one of those a couple of years ago.  I discussed the options with Oklahoma Tom from 3B Shooting Supply and ended up taking his suggestion to buy the Pietta Frontier in the same configuration and caliber.  I have not regretted my choice--it has turned out to be a great gun with an excellent trigger pull and appearance.  Just a thought.

So the pp 522 is a good shooter ? I talked to Oklahoma Tom recently about both models . He shoots both and says the Pietta's are good pistols  too . I have a Cimarron in the 7 1/2 good gun but like the smaller barrel for carrying while hunting . Thanks for your input . Are the sights the same as the Cimarron ? I mean is the front sight tapered and the back sight a v styled .

I believe the Piettas all have squared front and rear sights, both old model and pre-war.

Mine has a V rear sight.  The front sight is more square, but I also filed it down some time ago to sight it in.

I love my Uberti made Cimarron model P's. My favorite revolvers. Mine had awesome actions right out of the box.

Rowdy:

The trigger pull on my gun is great.  I don't know the weight, but it feels about right to me and has very little creep.  Of course that doesn't mean that all Piettas have equally great trigger pulls.

I was afraid you were going to ask me for pictures of the sights.  These photos are not the best, but I think they capture the basic shape that you're asking about.  In other words, the photos don't show off the look of the gun, but illustrate the shape of the sights.

I hope that helps.

You did Great , that was what I was wanting to see . Also the firing pin is on the hammer . That is a plus , I looked at the Traditions and they have a ruger style firing pin . I was at Rural King yesterday and they had a Traditions in 45 lc and it had the wood checkered grips .Felt good in hand not a bad looking pistol .

I'm glad the pictures helped.  I do like the gun.
