Tiz a New Year, January Coffee is up

Weren't THAT bad huntin' weren't possible probable..

Home birds weren't home. HK was sittin' a dead tree it the GC just 'fore noon. Didn't really want the shot but recorded it anyhow. Spy an ole gal out on the GC with a camera onna tripod. Dash thingy read 32º 'n ya can see the flag in the breeze. She goes back to 'er car, drops the tripod gets sumthin' else, goes back on the course 'n starts closer ta the tree. Put the camera on the bird cuz I saw 'im watchin' 'er 'n he spooks when ya get too close to his roost. *POOF* Got 'im in the air.

Been it the spot I was in but usually out the station wagon cuz I been wantin' a shot of him 'n the GC's flag in the same frame. Didn't have time to get out so I shot it through the windshield. Ain't the best but I got it 'til I get a better shot.



Ole gal knows the layout. Left 'n went where I could see down the fairway 'n watch the nest. Gotta fly in. Moved 'n found 'er 'n a friend parked near the nest with lenses hangin' out drivers' windows. Closer than I stop, seen 'im spook with folks where they were before. He flew again. I went home with plenty stuff for the day..

Chili's aroma fillin' the kitchen from the l'il red one. Cornbread in the big black one. Gotta wait 'nother two hours for din-din time. Phooey...

I went to the movies today and saw "American Sniper". It was a great movie. Hats off to Clint Eastwood and Bradley Cooper.

I went to a new movie house, between Arlington and Fort Worth. They have leather recliner seats that are very comfortable.

All is right with the world, got 2 boxes of the old red Diamond brand Strike-any-where's and a box of Ohio Blue Tip coming.   My brother really does love me and my mom.  Also Grandma's tin match safe.    That's going on the kitchen wall, got a Chinese cast iron filigree one for camp use.     

Brother remembered my rant about these that time, will buy them for ordinary use, and save the others for camp use.

Looked around here one day 'n there weren't none to be had. Stores still carried the things up 'Sleep's way. Got some those cuz I used smoke bombs now 'n again in the shoots I wrote. Then they ain't got 'em either. Guess it don't matter, don't go up there ner write shoots no more.

Cornbread's history. Got maybe a mug fullah chili left o'er. 'Bout done for the day, night, whatever.

i can still get them at Ace Hardware and most small town grocery stores.   But only the stupid yuppy liberal greenie ones that don't require 40 acres of Virgin Rain Forest to be cut down to make one box.  worst thing is most of them really think that as the cruies in their stupid Prius that is more of an environmental disaster than my Purple Pick-up is.  And they vote.

We had Chinese takeout, Kung Pao chicken and egg rolls. It was pretty good, but I was hungry again about 15 minutes after I finished the meal.

Think I gotta cat in the attached. Went out ta 'I Witness' the atmospheric conditions 'n left the door open. Headin' back saw it trottin' towards the door. Hidin' under either vehicles I wouldn't know it. Raise the door 'n fire off the station wagon when she leaves. If it's under either it won't be there long.

The animal bleedin' hearts say they wanna be free. That's the case stay outta my man-made structure, enjoy the 31º temp 'n the breeze. Eagles ain't tryin' ta sneak in.

Guessers sayin' close to 40º, sunny 'n a breeze. Should get rid the trace of snow what's still here.

Arcey, We've got all kinds of stray cats around here. People been dropping them off out here,I think. Every spring we seem to have several batches of new kittens. Coyotes around here oughta be well fed

City of Portsmouth had a contract with the Portsmouth SPCA, a no-kill shelter, ta take strays. Employees of the shelter were 'adoptin'' the things then dumpin' 'em all o'er the area includin' up ta Williamsburg. An employee found on she dropped squished in the road, freaked, 'n reported the practice ta the commonwealth. City attorney declined ta sue.

Wonder how many of 'em ended up here. Ain't got coyotes in Kempsville - yet. Do have fox but I don't think they prey on 'em.

We may have snow this weekend, but not much, headed to the 60's today.

I went back to sleep till 0800. I had a muffin, some orange juice, a small carton of milk, and more Cawffee. I am feeling full. no clue for lunch or supper. It looks like another 70 degree day. I ran the AC in the pickup yesterday afternoon.

Well, the "Historic weather Event" was a bust, got 2 maybe 3 inches and some wind, temps were in mid teens.Sunny today and a high near 30. Y'all have a good one.

I had some apple slices, peanut butter, cheese, ham, and crackers for lunch. No ideas for supper, maybe Moose will have some ideas.
