I started shooting my great grandfather's 1864 carbine this past summer. It had a broken spring on the keeper that separates the cartridge s when you cycle it.  I bought an original part (150. Years old and $40) and it worked fine for about 100 rounds and broke authentically.  Are there new spring s like this available?  I downloaded a parts breakdown from one of the reproduction s but it looks different.   The spring I need is v shaped. Thanks

Try Lodgewood.  If not them, perhaps Larry Romano, which is where I got some.
Pay attention to that soft voice in your head.
