While doing a search on Pietta revolvers I turned up EMF and dropped in for a look.  Some of their prices looked very competitive with many of those sale prices put out frequently by Cabellas and these seemed to be their regular prices??  Anyone have experience ordering from these fokes as their '51 Navy .44s with the short barsl sure look interesting at the listed price.  These are blued and not the shiny engrave ones offered by Cabellas.  Just like I need another set of back-ups to the back-ups to the power of three!!!  Even when the guns are rock bottom priced the cost of getting them match ready is like selling ones self into slavery.

Outside of the fact that a short-barreled .44 Navy is an Italian fantasy and never existed - EMF is probably one of their suppliers.

I had occasion to need a display case for a Remington percussion, along with accessories, so I called them and asked what they had and they were quite helpful.

Then, they asked if I needed any Colt stuff, since they'd gotten a lot of the accessories and cases when Colt got out of the blackpowder business, before the 'Signature Series' showed up.

I bought cases, flasks, wrenches - all in the packaging - but the one thing they didn't have many of were the different molds.

Only kept a couple of sets for my own 2d Generations and let the rest go, but they treated me well, gave me a break on quantity, and shipped quickly.

Had I any need, I'd do business with them again - no question.

Rumor states EMF had shut down...maybe just for awhile  :-\ to regroup
I'd be surprised, the Company shut its doors permanently.

Hey Bob.
You got me into trouble when you had a set of .44 Navys converted.  Just had to have a set of those for myself.  But....
I've bought a bunch of guns from EMF and have always had excellent experences with them.  That price for the blue Sherriff is excellent!
So what if it's an Italian "Never Never."  It's basically  an 1860 with an octagonal barrel.  Increadably neat when cut down to a 3 inch Snubby!

EMF is a great company in my personal experience.  My family is in SoCal, so I was actually able to visit their actual shop.  I only stayed for a little bit and chatted with them, but they seem very enthused and very helpful.  They'll happily admit the .44 "Navy" is an idle fantasy, but it's also a Navy that shoots .44.  They're fun in their own right, I own two, but I also don't pretend they're anything else.

Right now, I'm waiting for their 1860 snub-nose to come back into stock, then I'm picking up two of those, along with four other 1860 armies.  Basically going to have fun swapping barrels and hilts between them.  That and who doesn't want 6 1860 armies?

it's either that, or depending on the time of availability, I may just pick up some Uberti fluted Armies instead.

As a whole, the Uberti grip shape is a bit better on par, but that's nothing new here.  Fit and finish, I'll happily admit they both need work to get them shooting right.  Pettifogger has a good guide, but I don't go as far as the coil spring conversions.  I like my leaf springs.

and on that note, Pietta sells a "replacement parts kit" that even Cabela's has online.  That makes it easy to re-set up a gun if a hand or the bolt and trigger spring go.  That's a "plus 1" for Pietta in my book lol.  It's just easier than going through VTI.

Great folks to deal with. I bought a consecutive serial numbers set of 1860 at a VERY good price. Be sure to ask them about "unadvertised" specials. Seems they can't post some prices. My 1860 revolvers ended up costing quite a bit less than Cabelas sale price.

Exactly, Dixie Gun Works didn't fold when ol' Turner passed....

EMF's demise was greatly exaggerated.  :-\

I haven't dealt with them in a number of years, but did in the 80's & 90's and always harmonious.
