Had snow.  Snow's gone.  Fog & drizzle now.  All is soggy.  My dog hates it.  All my brass is loaded up.  500 rounds of scattergun ammo making shelves sag.  Arthritis nagging.  I'm getting grumpy.

So, maybe it's not me.  Maybe others feel this way?  Christmas is coming and that's good.  Firewood looks to hold out till spring.  I think I'll read the Good Book and give something away to someone that needs it but doesn't expect it.  Yup, that's what I'll do.  Any ideas what a grumpy old gambler can give away that won't offend the PC crew?

Hey DD,
Giving is a wonderful thing.  Giving something useful is more wonderful.  Giving something that is useful, yet still annoys the entire PC world is just really the best there is :-)

I very much agree with Lucky and Coffinmaker!

Ok Pards & thanks,

I'm going to give away one of my Big Lube®LLC molds.  I want to give it to one of our black powder pards that will actually use it and appreciate it.  I'll also put a set of DD Stainless Steel handles with it.

Here's the problem.  I want to give this to a pard from this wire.  So, how do I set up a lottery that is fair and impartial.  A double blind study would be best.  I don't know how to do this, but I do want to give something of value to a fellow cowboy action black powder shooter that they will use and enjoy.  Jesus' birthday was a gift to us all and I want to give a gift to show my appreciation.

Your insight is very welcome.

Simple,
Pull up the DarkSiders Den on a full size computer screen.  Close yer eyes and stick out her finger.  Whom Evers post you lan on, gets the goodie.  You can ask if they cast before ha mail it though.  Same procedure fora new winner.

DD,

You have given yourself a difficult task. But I truly hope, your gift is one well received!

I agree with Coffinmaker.
No need to offer a mold to someone who has no experience in casting. But what maybe more impotent, has no interest in setting up to learn how.
Wish I had more to offer.
My best, and have a Happy Holiday Season

Thats a great idea...and I like the motive of getting to someone who will use it.

Though I have lived my whole life in Illinois I have never really gotten used to the weather
and am not really a Winter person. I spend a lot of time getting reading done, writing
and generally hanging around til things warm-up. Can't get the wife to leave the state, though.
She used to fuss about staying in touch with the kids....now its the grandkids. I gave up
trying to talk sense a while ago. One of these days I'm gonna turn the tables on her and start taking
the little one's to the range. THAT oughta stir the pot!!

Best Wishes,

Bruce

I think this is a wonderful idea.  It's always the thought and emotional value that matters most.

My friends know me, I drink cawfee.  So... I have about twelve coffee mugs/thermus/cups/bowls even, and I cherish every one of them.

I feel ya on the creakiness.  We're having snow sticking finally in the mountain, and Flagstaff itself got hit just yesterday pretty hard.  Here? no snow yet, but man I'm aching.

but then I grab one of those mugs, think back on the good times, enjoy a brew, and it warms the soul.

I may be only 31... but trust me, it's the miles.

The winner has been chosen.  He has been notified and his name will be announced after Christmas.  I'm wondering what item he'll pick?

It ain't so great here in central Texas either, but with all the rain we should have lots of blue bonnets com spring green up.
My range is a mud hole which i prefer to a dust bowl like last year.
i hope all the pards has a merry Christmas and are looking forward to a happy and prosperous new year.
