Would cleaning the brass carrier from an Uberti 1866 in a ultrasonic cleaner cause any ill affects to the carrier?

Nope, just dry and lightly oil afterwards.
Little powder much lead shoots far kills dead.

That would be a great way to clean the carrier.  However, do not use oil on the carrier.  We shoot in some nasty, dusty places and you don't want the carrier to attract grit.  Instead, use Hornady One Shot Cleaner lubricant.  It is a dry lube and will not hold grit in the action of your gun.

Thanks for the replies.
I usually lube with bore butter as I shoot black powder in this.

I shoot black powder too.  I've found Hornady One Shot compatible with black powder.  If the gun gets cranky during a match, some Ballistol gets squirted into the mortise.

I like to throw the carrier block in my tumbler along with the brass.  I use Mobil 1, One Shot or Boshield to lube it.
