I have a special Armi San Marco 3rd Model Dragoon with detachable shoulder stock and 18" barrel. t has been well shot but the cylinder has a little rust specs and the nipples are about worn out.  It is .44 cal.  I found a Uberti import cylinder brand new and before I buy it, Id like to know if it will fit. I know Armi San Marco made stuff for Uberti back in the mid 70's and that is the vintage of this carbine.

I can't say for sure about the cylinder, but the internal parts a definitely different, I have a 70's ASM Dragoon, and Uberti internals won't fit, and since they are already smaller than the ASM, they can't be made to fit.

I have been told that the difference in replacement Uberti cylinders and the ASM is that the spindle on the Uberti is smaller than the ASM and that by either reducing the cylinder spindle on the ASM or by slightly opening the center bore of the Uberti all else is the same.  I can get a Uberti cylinder from Dixie Gun Works (who also provided the information) but being I just picked up this gun and dont have any other black powder, I am not sure I want to go through all that even though it is a classy looking gun.  I think I might just offer it up for sale.

Evan,
Rather than writing off your ASM, I'd suggest checking to see if SlixShot or Treso make cones that fit.  You may just be able to replace the cones and continue to have fun with your gun.

;D  Ya could also call Track Of The Wolf. They are making there own nipples and could very well fix ya up with either hardened or stainless nipps.
Aye its been quite a ride aint it?
