I do not reload ammo. I need to find some 38 S&W Black Powder Ammo. I have some antique pocket pistols of this caliber to be able to shoot side matches.

TL,

My suggestion is to "learn" how to re-load your own.
Using the powder of your choice.
I hope this helps

Buffalo Arms list it but presently on "Backorder"

http://www.buffaloarms.com/.22_.35_caliber_black_powder_ammunition_pr-4441.aspx

P.S: out of stock, and backorder is quite common. One source, Blackdawg, had an accident and seems to be closed down. Per shot cost is high and shipping even worse. All this argues in favour of learning to RELOAD.

Besides;  It's easy and fun.

If you plan to play this game with black powder you definitely need to load your own ammo.  It would be very expensive to buy the ammo if you shoot very much at all.

It is much easier to load black powder than smokeless and there is less danger of making a mistake.  A full case of black powder will do no harm in any safe firearm but a case full of Bullseye just might ruin your day.

I suggest you find a pal who loads black powder and have him show you how it is done.

Why do you not reload? And why do you not want to start?

I totally agree with Lucky. I have added to my post, above.

The main thing is, unless you are very rich or lucked out with a Powerball win, you have to reload to get much out of any kind of shooting sport. Look at your budget, and see how much more shooting you can get for the same amount of money. NOTE: You will not save money, just shoot more. 8) ;)

I started loading in the now so long ago with an Ideal (Lyman) 310 tong tool, a Lyman bullet mold and a can of DuPont Orange extra Sporting powder. The primers were the new "Staynless" non-corrosive primers.

Loading HOLY BLACK is simple as it can get and the powder is easy to find. Fill the case and stick in a bullet. Go back to the basics or make it as complex as you want to make it. More fun to shoot and annoys the heck out of the mouse phfart gamers.

Primers are becoming easier to find and HOLY BLACK or one of the subs can be found and most big sporting goods stores.

At least that is my two cents worth.

Respectfully submitted
Bunk
