In the fine tradition of the "Show us yer/your" series where we have seen many fine cowboy items, we would like to see your shotgun/shotshell belts.  These belts are often ignored and they feel left out, misunderstood, abused.  This post is to remedy that.  Let's give them the spotlight for a while.

(Besides, I'm looking to buy one and want idears. ;D)

I don't have a good picture of my shotgun belt.  Maybe I'll take one later and put it up for you.

It was made my Russ Carver, The Carver.  It's a canvas belt with leather loops.  The loops are very thin and are cut way down in the front.  Just enough leather there to hold the shells in.  I like the canvas belt because it gives a little more than leather plus it grabs onto my clothes.  Meaning that I don't have to tighten it up as much to keep it from moving around when I grab shells out of it.

I have a shotgun belt made like Camille's from Russ also.

Hope this link works so you can see it.  Problem is, I don't think that "Russ the Carver" is able to make any more canvas ones though.  He mentioned at Roanoke that he had 3 left and was unable to get the canvas from his supplier any more.  I just ordered mine in August and love it!  Russ even added some loops for my 38's on the side!
Good luck finding one Trinity!  He makes nice leather ones too!

Well gosh!  I don't have a picture of mine 'cause my digital camera went West!  I'll give you a mental picture of it.  It's an Army one by Mills, dated 1905.  It's khaki in color with an Army type buckle, two and three quarter inches in width and holds 25 rounds.  I half inch down from the top and up from the bottom is a black stripe running the full length of the belt.  When I got it, it was filthy, but two trips through the washing machine cleaned it up.  After it came out of the washer I hung it up with rounds in all the loops and let it air dry.  It's sewed all along the bottom so the rounds don't slip down and they are basically in a pocket.

Does that help?

Here's what mine looks like without the cartridge loops.

I usually just use the shotgun loops on my holsters, but when I have 8 or more targets, I use my canvas shotgun belt from San Pedro Saddlery.

I'm leaning toward the belt from Big Ed with the cartridge loops.  So far the consensus is pointing toward the canvas belts.  Any leather folks out there?
