Our local gun shop has a 1928, hex receiver Mosin-Nagant for sale.  Looks like it needs a buttplate, and the wood looks like they use the best grade of cottonwood they could find.  Bore looks okay from what I could see.  He's asking $200 if you're interested.

Probably not a bad deal, especially if it's not converted to 91/30.

Who's making brass for them nowadays? Last time I got reloadable factory ammo for them it was Norma. $1.00 a shot over 30 years ago!

The Yugoslavians making reloadable ammo for them?

They make it, but I don't know about availability right now. Haven't looked for any lately.

Drydock

Civilize them with a Krag . . .

At a .50 to $1.00 a pop for the brass, one might be just about as well off buying 5 20 round boxes of the Privi Ammo for $19.00 - $20

Yeah Dalton, that Norma sure is some good stuff!

Pricey though. I remember when that was all I could get for hunting ammo for it. Would find a partial box at a gun show and pay almost full price. Glad I reload now! ;)
