Boycott not only the publishers/editors but those that buy and pay for adds.

We wouldn't be buying much. Cars to groceries are hawked in there. All the friggin' grocery stores in this area run their sales ads in the paper.

The value to me is the feedback from the subscribers. The local television news websites enable comments but they don't have the number of readers/viewers the paper does. They're rarely visited. Another plus for the paper over the TV stuff is we don't have to endure the overly made-up 'personalities' and their trained-for-the-moment voice inflections.

I tend to want to know what the enemy thinks. Especially the local enemy. I can't come up with a better way to find out than print or the web version of it.

All I did was name it 'n get it started. The posse made it great. A debt I can never repay. Thank you, mi amigos.

We just lost one of our better reporters here. Kidney failure. Not too many left in ours ::)

I look to the Repository when something happens that way that makes the national news, Buck. A holdover from the Cutts trial.

We had a good one covering Norfolk's city hall. When a full time gig covering nothing but ODU football/sports opened he jumped on it. The beach reporter doesn't break as much stuff as either he did or the current one does.

It's fun watching the maturation of the current Norfolk schools reporter. She was publishing their press releases. Telling folks everything was progressing nicely. Since she caught in lies her attitude, and reporting has changed considerably.

One that passed was Jim Hillibish, Arcey. He touched on a lot of subjects, started doing beat articles and photography. Then got into things that were more his interests. Did cooking articles, stuff on computers, and gardening. His human interest articles were good as well :( ::)

Afternoon y'all.

City trip went okay.

Looks like it might rain later.  Not sure if it will.

I have stuff to do.  See y'all later.

Major2, I am glad to hear that your shoulder is doing well. My hip is doing a little better. I am on my second cup of Cawffee and still not awake. We have a cool front, with temps in the mid 80s, which is better than 90s or 100s.

The internet has just about killed the printed newspaper. I went back to bed for a little nap, and now I feel awake this morning. More Cawffee did help some.

Delmonico

Morning, off today and tomorrow.

Last time we got the local paper was about,,,,,,,, hmm, not sure, might have been this cenrury.  Rita got hit up by some guy at the store, think if we took it it was a couple dollars for several weeks, heck, they might have even paid us, trial you know, would impress us and we'd then want it at the regular price.

Yep, thing showed up on the curb, Rita would drag in in when she got home, I didn't bother.  I was home when the called to get us to reup at the regular price.  Told them if I had to walk that dang far in the morning for a paper I'd go on to the Quick shop and get a cup of coffee too.   Never called back.

Speaking of media pissing me off. There was a tragic shooting today at a UPS service center. Listen editors unless you have boots on the ground covering the bullets flying. It is not a active shooter. Most likely a dead shooter. Learn the definition of Active. Rant over!

Was a dead shooter, as reported on the radio news. Doubt he was very active anymore.

They usually end up killing themselves or confront LEO's, in the hope that the Police will shoot them.
