I just acquired a Spanish Santa Barbara 1858 Remington revolve. The revolver has no engraving and no visible serial number when assembled. I have yet to take it apart.

I am trying to find the correct replacement nipples so I can use #11 caps.

The following measurements' were made with a digital caliper.

Nipple and Cone Dimensions

1 = Replacement cone (6x.75mm) for a Colt 1860 Army made by Armi San Paolo in 1964.
2 = Cone from a Spanish Santa Barbara 1858 Remington.
               1                 2
Cone Length*         0.169" – 4.26mm    0.197" – 5.01mm
Thread journal length**   0.190" – 4.79mm   0.200" – 5.06mm
Overall length         0.471" – 11.97mm   0.517" – 13.14mm
Diameter of base      0.311" – 7.90mm   0.313" - 7.95mm
Diameter of threads.      0.323" – 5.91mm   0.227" – 5.73mm

*Cone length is the length available for fitting the cap which seems to differ from Track's measurements.
** Thread journal length measured from bottom of the base to end of the threaded section.

Measurements are approximate and were taken with a digital caliper and varied from nipple to nipple.

The diameter difference of 0.096" or 0.18mm, across the threads, means that the 6x.57mm nipples will not fit and the cap length of the 6x.57mm nipple may be too short for the hammer to reach.

I would like to identify the replacement nipple for the Santa Barbara nipple which used #10 caps so I can use #11 caps.

Sorry about the aliment problems I don't how how to fix them !
